Waking up on only his second day with the Mountain Warrior tribe, Eric finds he must still prove his worth despite stepping up in the previous night's battle with a zombie horde. Accompanying Bryan and Critter on a mission to save a bitten and injured comrade, the group is captured by the Lowboys and is taken to Craigsville where Eric is strangely treated like a celebrity. Inciting the ire of the Mountain Warriors and not sure why his new and dangerous hosts want him in their camp, Eric is suddenly a man on his own. With his loyalties in question and a new and possibly deadly ally emerging, Eric will have to choose between saving himself, finding out the truth, or coming to his friends' rescue--if they still are his friends. Whatever he chooses to do, his only escape route leads through the heart of the killing grounds of the vampires. It's kill or be turned or maybe both, and Eric will have to muster a strength he's not sure he has to make it out alive. 

Just when Eric thought he was proving himself to the Mountain Warriors and getting as comfortable as a person can hope for after only a week in the monster ridden Forbidden Zone, an unexpected attack from a neighboring tribe sparked by a new terror of remote controlled zombies, leaves Eric confused about where his loyalties lie.With little time to ponder it, Eric heads into battle with The Mountain Warriors against an evil scientist and his disturbing breed of undead army. To make matters worse, Eric discovers that Tommy, his "friend" on the outside, has access to all Eric's audio and video and has used it to make a T.V. reality show complete with a cheesy jingle. The Mountain Warriors are famous and not too happy about it. The Specter, the vampires, the zombies, and the evil scientists all want Eric dead, and now his own tribe might also. His only supporter might be Abigail, the vampire ordered to turn him or die if she doesn't. This may be Eric's worst spot yet.

Is the enemy of my enemy my friend or another enemy? Of all the terrors in the Forbidden Zone, no place strikes more fear in the hearts of the survivors than the Caverns. But when Bryan's young son is kidnapped and dragged into its depths, the Mountain Warriors must storm it. They know the caverns are filled with blood mad vampires, but there's a lurking evil they didn't expect and a depth of deception they aren't prepared for. Despite their usual bravery, when the rescue turns into violent chaos, the warriors retreat and Eric is abandoned. No longer the inept fighter, Eric is ready to shed his reluctant hero status and wage war against the vampires. His only friend is a vampiress sent to kill or turn him and their only way out of the caverns is to go deeper into them, beneath reality as they know it. Can Eric rescue the child or will the unexpected encounters in the caverns make him forget what's real and more importantly, what matters most?
