God, Hair, Love, and America is a collection of poetry named for the themes it takes on. Through her words, Jackson tells a myriad of stories ranging from political diatribes on homeland security to love haiku with characters like hateraid Barbie and the stone face of God. The collection includes such titles as; "The Afro Petting Zoo is Closed: A Public Service Announcement in three parts", "Happy Hour", and "Love's Season".
