Christian poems inspired by the last words of Norseng, a man from the Garo tribe of Assam, now Meghalaya, India. As a Christian convert his chief told him, on pain of death, to recant his new faith. Norseng responded, "I have decided to follow Jesus. No turning back, no turning back." The Chief killed Norseng and all his family. The rest of the tribe, witnessing Norseng's commitment, converted to Christianity.
