The term "Elmer" means someone who provides personal guidance and assistance to amateur or would-be amateurs. Way up on a ridge top over looking Chapman Grove, West Virginia is such an Elmer. But he doesn't know it yet. So what happens when a rebellious teenager deserted by her mother, meets up with this cranky old man who seems only interested in his amateur radio?
