Pecan is a elementary school child that wants to become a Spelling Bee Champion. He decides that he will compete for the first time in the school spelling bee championship. He tells his parents about competing and promises to do his chores and still have enough time study all of the words in the spelling bee study guide. The day of the competition finally arrives of the competition. Through the competition as the words gradually increase in difficulty, Pecan advances as others fall . He reaches the final few rounds and is on the verge of reaching his goal of becoming Spelling Bee Champion.

Pecan is in bed wondering how his first day of school will go. He's not sure who his new teacher is and how hard she may be. Pecan has to his new shoes and wonders will his classmates like them or will he be laughed at. Most importantly Pecan is worried about the hard math and if he will be able to make new friends. Through out the school day Pecan will take you on a trip of his school day and all the daily situations he will go through throughout his first day of school.

Pecan gets excited about running for school class president at First Light Elementary. He has an idea of what he needs to do and will go through the process of having to talk to his classmates on what he wants better for the school and would he make the difference if he were elected as class president.
