A high school comedy romance with a difference. Being dead hasn't been this much fun since Buffy. Maddy Swift is just an ordinary girl, until the fateful night when she is struck by lightning and wakes up face down in a puddle. Then it's goodbye to all things Normal - such as breathing and having a heartbeat - and hello to yellow vision and a whole new Afterlife. Turns out there's a lot more to being a zombie than shuffling and groaning, but surviving school as one of the living dead requires a totally different set of skills. And things don't get any easier when Maddy realises that she's not the only reanimated student at Barracuda Bay High ...Who said that paranormal romance had to be just about vampires and werewolves? Take a break from Twilight and the rest with a light-hearted look at life as one of the undead. Praise for Rusty Fischer's Zombies Don't Cry: "A fun, fresh take on the usual leg-dragging, groaning, brain-craving zombie ...often laugh-out-loud and always grin-inducing - although brains are still required." In the early 1950s, a humble building in the heart of a sleepy little beach town offered "GOOD FOOD," "cocktails" and, a necessity in the tropical climate, "air conditioning". The building was Bernard's Surf and the town was Cocoa Beach, newly incorporated and on the early end of a building boom thanks to the nearby space program at Kennedy Space Center. Years later, Bernard's nephew, Rusty Fischer, would take over the restaurant and steer it through the next 50 years of launches, space programs, celebrity visits, recessions, renovations and revelations. In Notes on a Wet Cocktail Napkin, Fischer recounts his decades in the restaurant business and his particular insights into a not-so-little-anymore town called Cocoa Beach. Along the way he pens the history of not just Bernard's Surf, but the town that hosted it and, of course, the space program that launched it into international recognition
