From the Introduction: "Although many prayer books and breviaries have been compiled over the centuries, this one has been adapted for those experiencing the Daily Office for the first time. Rather than including all the parts of the Anglican/Episcopal Book of Common Prayer (BCP), this is focused around the four main hours (offices) of prayer: Morning, Midday, Evening, and Compline (before retiring for the day). Additionally, portions of the offices have been left out to streamline the offices and, hopefully, render them more beginner-friendly."

This small book was born out of priest's desire to have the minimum parts of the 1979 Book of Common Prayer in a compact, easy-to-carry volume that could fit in a small bag or carry-on. The prayer book contains: four offices of daily prayer (Matins, Midday, Vespers, and Compline), two forms for Confession (short form, long form), and a full Eucharist service.
