It's not easy to express true pain, and suffering to others. Being a teenager and making your way up to young adult life has its share of obstacles. Along the way there are many lessons learned, and many deep feelings that don't have the needed closure. Understanding and acceptance is what can make everything better. These are a collection of poems that were written from the hardest memories of High School until the last year of college.

What do you get when come across someone who has a childlike innocence and a dark world of hurt? The answer is Jackie Walker. She has a strong heart for those important to her. She introduces to those important people the simple things that are most forgotten. Even though she is a positive person around those whom she cares for it doesn't mean everything in her life is positive. Facing ridicule, abandonment, harassment, and her own low self-esteem brings up a different side to her story. Five important people in her life learn what they can to understand her. In the process of understanding her, does that also change their life in some way as well? Can five different individuals with five different personalities open their minds to another possibility how to live their own life from an influence of one girl?

Years have been complicated as a young adult with many tears from the constant heart wrenching truth of life. I created a collection of poems that described just how hard and painful those years were in explicit detail. It is now time to share this collection of poems. For this collection I continue the journey into adulthood. A lot of lessons were learned, and some events were repeated. All in all these poems are the next step of my life while finishing up my perspective toward things happening in my twenties.

The youngest get the short end of the stick when situations appear. Many times the youngest are seen as a nuisance that no one wants to hear from because it is often thought, "They don't know anything about the outside world." (That is what I perceived as a young child.) Little does everyone know that the youngest (such as myself) know more than what they get credit for by just knowing information. There are narratives that have been spread from those closest to me, even before I can remember. Those points of view only produce parts of what I think or feel. It has been years listening and closing my mouth, even if it seemed like I had no problem stating my opinions. I am ready to say, "Enough is enough." Now is the time for myself to state the narrative that I have been longing to say without any interruptions. Are you able to handle my narrative?
