Wikileaks, gay marriage, and the perils of cleaning the fridge... it's just another day at "Doc and Raider", one of the world's longest running LGBT comic strips. Follow the adventures of these two Canadian gay boys trapped in a world definitely not of their own design, as they tapdance around the cultural, political, and societal minefields of White Parties, Gay Evolution, and Proper Canadian MMA. In this, the first collection of the online version, everything from illegal aliens to the potential perils of three-ways gets tossed in the mix for your reading pleasure.
n this second collection of strips, the boys take you on a wild ride that rockets from computers looking for a safe hook-up to gay marriages in the future... not to mention appearances by the kinder, gentler New America and the Kissing Bandit of M ban Find out what happens when Brad Pitt and Hugh Jackman stand in for the boys while Carlos, the hot-blooded Spaniard dressed in only sandals and a smile, delivers a mai-tai. At the other end of things, sit in on Doc's conversation with God when Raider is gay-bashed. These are the earliest online appearances of Doc and Raider, when the boys ran wild through the minefields of contemporary American politics and culture... while steadfastly keeping their Canadian roots. Enjoy
Illustrated by internationally known artist Sean Stephane Martin, this edition (here presented with the original French text) is augmented with images of a universe where robots, mechanical beings, and the occasional alien play out Voltaire's famous story of the "best of all possible worlds". With little Candide the only vaguely humanoid, the rest of the cast explodes, short-circuits, and deep-freezes... only to return to shoulder on in a universe as cold and unfeeling as those populating it. By turns wry, sensually beautiful, and horrific, this is a version of CANDIDE you return to again and again. Please note: this is the original French text. An English version will also be released shortly.
This fifth collection of "Doc and Raider" strips, from 2011, takes the boys into "straight camp", a glimpse at what's written on the back of the Constitution, and a test to see if they're "fairy enough". And just what is it about Doc's Mummy? Find out in the most Googled strip of that year: "Breaking Dawn, Part II"...
VOICE (a distant rumble) I'M LISTENING. YOU HAVE ONE MINUTE.DORE. We need help. I'm trying to get back to Kansas -VOICE. AH... EXOTIC PORTS OF CALL. THOSE ARE ALWAYS GOOD. RETURN TO KANSAS NO, KANSAS -- No, wait KANSAS WITH AN EXCLAMATION MARK. IT MIGHT PLAY. IF IT DOES, I COULD ARRANGE A TOURING PARTY TO PLAY THE STICKS OF YOUR CHOICE. CHIP. If I may, Captain. Starting with the Treaty of 4612, the Asu bound several worlds to an international coalition that would see the Asu in a position to leverage the upside return of ferrous substrates as described in such treaties, in effect putting the Asu in a position of coalescing economic variance factors into a single marketable stream, while at the same time imposing trade embargoes on world systems that failed to buy into such agreements. This, coupled with their well-documented usage percentages, as well as the ongoing treaty discussions of the DRATL in the Rovenoe System, has led to the Asu's re-positioning themselves at the top of the economic (and quite possibly governmental) hierarchy while at the same time maintaining a firm and well entrenched grasp on much needed commodities. A rather remarkable system, I must say. SKIP (his eyes dazed) Huh? JOE. Get to it, Chip: what do they want? CHIP (as though it's perfectly obvious) Iron. JOE (with a snort)Right. SKIP. As if, Robotguy. Iron is probably the most available element out there next to hydrogen. (with a snicker) You might as well say they want oil or something. nb: This is a slightly revised edition of the original book.

The "juvenile operetta" was a theatrical artform that blossomed from 1900 to 1950, and in this overview, we examine over 100 examples in all their weird and wonderful glory. With stories that range from princesses in distress to Canadians in deepest Africa to Chinese businessmen coping with "The New Woman", they are not only giddy delights onto themselves but an overview of American social structure during the days surrounding the Great Depression. An invaluable addition to any theatre history library, NO ONE EVER SAID will provide hours of shock and delight.

Inspired by a one-act play by Jean Giraudoux, THE APOLLO OF H ROUXVILLE is a fable about hope, expectation, and the search for True Happiness and the Universal Vegetable - not to mention a certain Greek god wreaking a tiny bit of havoc in a small gay bar in Toronto, all on the night Raider met Doc.
An extract: My high school career counselor was this florid-faced, overweight man who told me my problem was I was too linear in my thinking. Life, he said, doesn't always go straight from A to B. I needed to loosen up, he said; I should try some different avenues of expression. To someone who's sixteen, that didn't mean a helluva lot, except that maybe I should try a different road when driving home. It was years before I figured out he was making a pass at me.By contrast, my now-very-much ex-husband Steve was the tan, trim, quintessential gay man who once told me that sex between us felt like an agreeable mixture of Candyland and Monopoly. That didn't mean too much either, but it sure felt like a step in the right direction. And I always knew when he was making a pass.Oh, Steven...I really needed you last night.I mean, I'm writing today for the first time since... well, you know - and it was always easier facing these mini-marathons after waking up next to you.Well, not much to be done about that now, is there? I can't exactly call you up and ask you to come home. Be a bit difficult, eh? And the long-distance charges would be murder.I know, I know: bad joke.
Originally written in 1911, THE PINK LADY was one of the first American musicals to fully integrate book and score into a seamless whole. This newly edited acting edition makes this spirited comedy of wayward fianc s, suspicious fianc es, bourgeoise Parisian antique dealers, and - of course - goddesses and satyrs available yet again for performance.
Two gay men, a teddy bear, and a band of dancing pirates come together in a one-act musical about finding yourself by becoming someone else... (Revised edition, 2017)
