Crowdfunding is a novel concept in which many individuals fund a project or venture without traditional intermediaries. In my research I analyze the dynamics and intelligence of the crowd involved in this novel form of (entrepreneurial) finance. The conclusions help to assess ways in which established organizations can benefit from crowdfunding. Interestingly enough, some possible applications are not necessarily motivated by raising funds.
