Getting To The Other Side by Sharon Johnson Pond is a collection of devotional stories written about the years when the author, her husband, John, and their son, Marcus, served as missionaries in Central Africa. The stories deal with the problems of learning different cultures and languages, finding a place of ministry and then losing that place, and the difficulties of trying to continue ministry in war conditions. Getting To The Other Side is a combination devotional and story book, written by the person who actually experienced the events which happened during times of peace, but also during the tumultuous war years in both Rwanda and Burundi, Africa.
