Playing games such as counting games and games that keep score are great ways to help develop math skills. We love these Math games These math games use materials found inside your home and also make learning experiences out of everyday routines, such as ordering from a restaurant menu or putting gas in your car to check the kind of mileage you are getting. The math games are designed for you to have fun with your child while reinforcing mathematical skills. I made at home several games and we've been playing during the week in addition to our regular math curriculum. My 9 year old has been struggling with regrouping. One of the games is a dice game for 2 players that involve adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers. She is getting so much practice and because it is a game and not a lesson she is not complaining about it (and actually even asks to play.) I can't ask for more than that in a game. I am SO impressed with this product. It is something we will use for years to come. For each bag, it gives you an instruction sheet on how to assemble that bag with all of the needed supplies. It is so easy to follow. And the games are so fun for the kids. Math Games is over 200 pages packed full of fun math themed games for every level. I love products that I will be able to use for more than just one grade level and this is definitely the case with this book.

"Are we there yet " How many times have parents heard this refrain from the kids, even before the car was out of the driveway? Kids seem to have difficulty understanding two things about traveling: time and distance. That's why parents so often hear, "How long will it take?" and "How far are we going? In addition to the classic of all time, "Are we there yet?" Traveling with kids can make a trip sometimes longer - for everyone But do not worry; a solution is here from Activity Bags Travel Games can be "Made at Home". Once assembled, all the activities and games come with instructions and information and require no more than a dry erase marker and eraser (which are is kept in the binder ). Some of the activities will be old favorites that maybe the kids have forgotten about, and some new, updated ones. All the activities are easy to learn and geared for elementary age The binder is very easy to assemble, with instructions in the book. May your next trip be fun, as you look forward to keeping your travelers occupied and learning at the same time. Read what others are saying about Travel Games in a Binder. Having the Travel Games is great for the car but we can use it while waiting at sporting events, dance class, music class, etc. The binder is so versatile Bronwyn L It will be great to have something for the kids to do in the car verses watching movies Michelle I know my boys will enjoy the games while I enjoy the peace in the car. Megan A. Travel Games is great for our family because it is ready to go in a moment's notice They are also easy to pack and keep organized Kimberly T. Travel Games is very versatile. We can take our binders on the road, to a hotel, restaurant, appointments and even camping Lisa W. This is a GREAT idea for trips and will keep the kids and parents interacting while in the car as opposed to popping in a DVD or electric game to keep the kids active. Deborah B. We are so excited to have Traveling Games to go This is an excellent idea Lori G. We fit all our Travel Games supplies into the zipper pouch, which goes into the travel binder. Over 40 fun travel activities (like tic-tac-toe above) are included in the book. More activities include ad libs, hangman, counting cows, road sign bingo, mazes, the license plate game, and so much more Our kids have been having so much FUN with the travel binders They've even been playing them at home Travel Games provide a whole host of activities that a child can complete inside a binder using only a dry erase marker and a piece of fabric to be used as an eraser. These are great for times when you might be waiting at a doctor's office or other appointment, or when traveling in your vehicle. I gave the Travel Games Bbinder to my daughter when she had to wait by herself at bell choir rehearsal. The book was a big hit instantly. She loved the variety of activities and spent the entire hour trying new things. Then I took the book back, and kept it for the next time we had to wait somewhere. It works well traveling or for while kids are waiting.

Reading Games Includes 20 reading game instructions for new and beginning readers that can be "Made at Home". Most use materials that are found in your home. The Reading games are designed to be fun for both you and your children as you help them to gain the skills they need to become better readers. Other than helping your children to grow up healthy and happy, the most important thing that you can do for them is to help them develop their reading skills. It is no exaggeration to say that how well children learn to read affects directly not only how successful they are in school, but also how well they do throughout their lives. When children learn to read, they have the key that opens the door to all the knowledge of the world. Without this key, many children are left behind. Years of research show clearly that children are more likely to succeed in learning when their families actively support them. When you and other family members read with your children, help them with homework, talk with their teachers, and participate in school or other learning activities, you give your children a tremendous advantage. This book includes 20 reading game instructions for families with elementary age children, that can be "Made at Home". Most of the activities make learning experiences out of the everyday routines in which you and your children participate. Most use materials that are found in your home. The games are designed to be fun for both you and your children as you help them to gain the skills they need to become readers. Each game is stored in a one gallon sized zipper bag for easy use and storage. Instructions are designed to make one at a time, or hold a swap to make all 20 Reading Games. Read what others are saying about Reading Games. We've been trying the Reading Games at home and they a great add-on to our home-school Our boys are already asking for more games and our oldest offered to do the games with his little brother. There are 20 games to use with lower elementary age children to review sounds, word recognition, syllables, memorization, eye tracking and more. I'm planning to use these games to review reading skills throughout the summer break. hiswonderfulworks Using Reading Games with my children has brought a lot of fun and laughter into our home. They were easy to make at home. My young readers love the games and want to play them all the time. They have not caught on yet that the games are improving their reading skills Way to go Activity Bags Grace M. I made Reading Games as a gift for my daughter-in-law and grandson Debbie G. Reading Games helps my second grader with sight reading and my 5 year old with phonics. We love the games Thank you. Kassi L. I love the idea of having everything needed for the activity enclosed in a bag so there is never a need to gather supplies. Your little ones can just pick up a bag and go to work. Each bag costs about a dollar to make, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. Each bag teaches a valuable skill to your child. For example, matching, alphabetical order, numerical order, sorting or patterning. The books come to you in PDF format so you must have access to a printer to be able to make the activity bags. I had to supply things like card stock in various colors, sandwich bags, gallon plastic bags, small paper cups, un-popped popcorn, plastic page protectors, contact paper, pennies, dry erase markers, felt, and paper lunch sacks. The areas of learning covered the following: eye tracking, word recognition, listening skills, letter sounds, sound recognition, memorization, and separating words. Skills being strengthened by these activities include phonemic awareness, phonics, sight reading, syllabication, eye tracking and more. One of our favorite activities was Beginning, Middle, End.
Science Experiments Volume 2 (Chemistry, Human Body & General Science): Activities Made at Home
This book provides examples of 25 MORE simple experiments (Chemistry, Human Body and Science and General Science) that can be Made at Home and do with your children. It is an introduction to the wealth of material in many other books available in libraries and bookstores. Science Experiments engages young children. It has experiments they can see, touch, manipulate, and modify; situations that allow them to figure out what happens--in short, events and puzzles that they can investigate, which is the very stuff of science. All the experiments have been tested by a group of moms and they work great But most importantly, kids of all ages are observing, asking questions, learning science, and loving it And, science experiments are not a hassle anymore, because it's all in the bag Together, with this book, parents and children can: - Learn how fires are put out; - Learn how to make glue from vinegar and milk; - Learn how much iron is in different juices; - Learn how to make invisible ink; - Learn how to grow crystals in the sun; - Learn how to make your own perfume from common garden plants and spices. Review: Science Experiments Volume 2 has been a great addition to our home school. We find an experiment to match what we are learning. Everything is in the bag, minus perishables, and we're all set to go All my kids participate and I'm not running all over the house gathering supplies. Pearlita M. It's a bit of work at first, but if you do a little each day and share the work with a group of friends you are done You've got science experiments for a year (except for a few perishables) ready to go. You can dig deeper by getting books at the library. Bobbie B. This is an inexpensive way to add hands on work to your science curriculum. I love that each person has to focus on supplies for ONE experiment, yet you get 20 for the effort Kelly P. We LOVED the Science experiments They are so perfect for my little scientists who can't yet read well; I only need read them the instructions, which are very simple and easy to understand, and they can set off to experiment. They have enjoyed most of them very much, but the ones they REALLY enjoy, they remember how to do and ask to do them on their own over and over. The kits have been great as summer or school break activities, and I've been able to use several to match up to what we are studying, making it so easy for me to prepare a science lesson. For children who are reading and writing well, these would be great independent lessons too Lisa W. The bags were easy to assemble; and I can't wait for the other experiments to do with my children. Karen G. These science experiments are really cool things to do with your kids during summer break. At least from my experience, I think both my 2 year old and my 8 year old would enjoy this experiment (on different levels of course). Becky S. These are great experiments for young children to be hands on. They can also be adapted to fit the needs of many skill levels. Wendy C. It's worth the time and effort, and a great way to get your kids to learn and be fascinated with the world God created. My daughter loves doing experiments and she can't wait to do more at home. Experiments in a Bag are perfect for our family Sue R. The experiments that we have tried have been fun and easy to do. My kids are always excited to try a new experiment and I try to let them assemble all the items necessary to do the experiment so they are active participants in the experiment. This is a great fun and quick activity to do with my kids that is also educational. Debbie M.

How do I make a volcano? How can I grow my own crystals using salt? Learn how to make water disappear? Learn what happens when you trap liquid? Young children ask their parents hundreds of questions like these. In search of answers, we use science to both enlighten and delight. Science Experiments Volume 3 provides examples of 25 MORE simple experiments (Chemistry) that you can be "Made at Home" and do with your children. All the experiments have been tested by a group of moms and they work great But most importantly, kids of all ages are observing, asking questions, learning science, and loving it And, science experiments are not a hassle anymore, because it's all in the bag This book suggests ways you can interest your children from about 3 to 10 years old in science. It includes: - Some basic information about science; - Instructions to assemble 25 easy science experiments you can Make at Home for children to do - some alone, some with supervision both inside and outside the home; - A brief description of scientific concepts, and a list of online resources; - Many of the experiments cost little or nothing and require no special equipment. They are convenient, easy, economical, fun, engaging, and educational. Together, with this book, parents and children can: -Learn how fires are put out; -Learn how to make glue from vinegar and milk; -Learn how much iron is in different juices; -Learn how to make invisible ink; -Learn how to grow crystals in the sun; -Learn how to make your own perfume from common garden plants and spices. Read what people are saying about Science Experiments Volume 3: I found these e-books to be a great asset to our science curriculum. In both of the books, there is a page that categorizes each experiment according to where it takes place (indoors or outdoors) and which of the sciences it emphasizes. This helped immensely in the decision-making process. There were also many helpful hints for the coordinator of a swap. The experiments themselves were easy to use, with common materials and simple instructions. And one of the best things about this product is that each experiment is meant to cost only about a dollar to assemble. All of my children, ages 4-13, enjoyed this fun way to learn about the wonderful world around us and the amazing things God has created. Product review by Charlotte G., The Old Schoolhouse(R) Magazine, LLC, March 2010 The lab pages that are included have questions that are simple enough for students to complete on their own, and really get them thinking about what's happening during the experiment, it then goes on to help the student to understand what they are seeing and why. Your student will complete the lab questions independently during each step of their experiment, letting parents and teachers know they completed and understand the experiment. These experiments work great for our family We did a couple of the experiments yesterday for our school and had so much fun with them There are experiments like rockets, static electricity, 5 senses, etc. My kids also did a Static Balloon race, which was a blast. You rub the balloon on your head and then it will pull an empty soda can The experiments are easy to make at home and fun to do.

The book includes 32 sets of instructions on how to put together craft kits at home. You can put them together on your own, or organize a swap. Most of the supplies needed to make the craft kits can be found in your own home. If not, they can be purchased for little cost or obtained free from donations or from friends and family. We kept ourselves very busy this winter and utilized the bags when we weren't feeling well and wanted to lighten our school load. Let me share two projects we finished from this book. This is our favorite book During the winter holidays, we made can candles, glittery paper chains for our advent countdown, button flowers as Christmas gifts, beautiful candles, toast tongs for friends, and stoney friends as pets. These bags are great to have around for keeping your elementary children (and we've used them with preschoolers too). I think they would make a wonderful gift for a child that like to make crafts as well. I know my girls would love to receive a set of pre-made craft kits that they can just pull out and make.
