When a good friend's brother is murdered at the friend's restaurant, private detective Tony Victor promises the family he will find out who did it and why. In order to accomplish the task Tony must cooperate with his former employer, the Parsonsville Police Department, where the relationship is not the best.Tony experiences difficulty staying focused on the case by the grief he continues to experience over the untimely death of his wife and the upcoming parole hearing for the man who caused her death. Further complicating matters are his sudden romantic feelings for his friend's sister.
