During the summer of 1957 Ludlow Falls is celebrating its Sesquicentennial. The entire town has turned out for the birthday party. But if it were up to Shorty Long, Mary Gordon, Lake Jagger, and Lord Baltimore, the party wouldn't go according to plan. On the surface, this small Midwestern town has enjoyed a rich and colorful one hundred and fifty years - even though Moon Erhart always said, "The only thing they did when they put up this town was to ruin a perfectly good cornfield." But something was lurking in the Falls past. And an accidental discovery by a young boy is about to expose a century old secret. A secret that will change lives and split the old town right down the middle.Author Biography: Born in 1947, E.W. Long graduated from The Ohio State University in 1970 with a degree in Fine Arts. While attending O.S.U. Mr. Long played quarterback for the legendary football coach, Woody Hayes. After attempting a career in professional sports he enrolled in law school where he was bitten by the political bug. The bite lured him into a twenty-five year lobbying career. Mr. Long is currently living in Columbus, Ohio, where he teaches, rescues stray animals, and lobbies on behalf of animal welfare organizations. Presently he is working on two new books (a second novel and a non-fiction sports book). Black Bridge is Mr. Longs first Novel.

On the furthest edge of the Outer Hebrides lies St. Budoc's Island, a remote community steeped in centuries-old superstition. Marine biologist John Calvary escaped the remote Scottish island he grew up on after a traumatic event. Now, thirty years later, John has been called back to St. Budoc's to investigate something from the depths of the Scottish seas that has washed up on its shore, something that is unearthing the island's devastating secrets and causing the islanders to quietly unravel. The corpse of an unknown, colossal sea creature.
