The Von Burgers immigrate from Germany to the United States just prior to the start of World War II. Jon enlists in the Navy, while Chloe holds the fort at home, pregnant with their first. A Jewish family friend gives them company and reassurance in this first book in the Pearls trilogy. This is the original Oyster Bay with only one change, the book cover. The original was titled Pearls, and Oyster Bay was revealed on the title page. There have been no changes otherwise from the original. In looking for a cover appropriate to the series, This cover was released. The original idea involved having all three books in the trilogy under one title. Three books but in one volume. The concept was changed with the title Oils of Arizona, and this title become the first book of two. This cover will be replaced in the future in favor of the cover currently under Kindle. There are discussions still with Olympia regarding a 3600.00 pound British sterling hybrid contract. That is a little over five thousand US dollars for the publication of two books. This was done in an effort to preserve the manuscript and keep it from meddlers. A copy was sent international mail with a notary republic seal. Enjoy.

Black Pearls in the continuing story of the Von Burger family. Now Sammy Jr. is a young man, and he has enlisted in the military in the 1960's. This is a version that included a new cover. There were some minor proof reading changes. It was a part of the original three books series, that was later changed to a two book series. This book and Pearl Farmers were combined with an interlude using John F Kennedy's famous speech "I am a Berliner". It was listed as one of the twenty five greatest speeches of the twentieth century by Time-Life books. It made a nice Segway between the two books featuring Sammy, then his brother Billy's military careers. This book is at a reduced price. It has since been revised along with Pearl Farmers. This is the original Black Pearls text. Changes made were taking out chapter two "Calgon Take Me Away due to some timing issues. The children's workshop with Sesame Street did not actually begin till 1969. This story took place in 1961-1962. Also the Calgon advertisement itself was from the 1970's. The spirit of the chapter was preserved in the other chapters. The final word count for the final text was much higher even without the speeches and poetry included. All of the text was approximately 27,000 word a few more than Oyster bay. There were few other minor problems with the text that were also changed such as how Bonnie's pregnancy was addressed in conversation, and the actual high school baseball being played. Jackie Robinson's letter to President John F Kennedy was added to the text with the full letter being placed in the appendix. I hope you enjoy this now being made available again with disccusions regarding the hybrid contract with Olympia Publishing.
