Liberty is a black/African American girl who is struggling to accept her natural black hair. Liberty's mother takes her on an emotional journey of understanding the symbolic meaning of the uniqueness of black hair and reminding her how beautiful God created her to be inside and out.The historical and cultural characteristics of African American/Black people is linked with having amazing beauty, unique shapes, and various styles, and beautiful natural hair. Liberty comes to realize how beautiful her hair is. Our hair can be kinky, curly, straight, it can draw up when the weather is hot and humid. But the amazing thing is we can wear our hair in many different hair styles. This is what Liberty realized how amazing her hair is. We as African American Black/Brown girls, teens and women must see our true beauty. We must see how we are truly created. Not by world standards. We must recognize we were created just right and not allow people to tell us what to look like, how to dress or how to wear our hair.

This book is about a little boy who has lots of dreams. He loves seeing the different possibilities of what he can be when he gets big. Then one day he shared with his classmates, and they laughed at him. He gets discouraged because they do not see what he sees so he wants to stop dreaming. This is a part of life; people are not always going to see what you see. We must keep dreaming. The moral of the story is to keep DREAMING We all have dreams; we all have a Destiny and Purpose to fulfill. Do not get upset if people around you do not see or understand your dreams. You must see for yourself and what you want for yourself matters most We all have different things to do. Some will do more than others but be the best at whatever you are called to do or be. Stay focused on your gifts and talents and as you do that, you will become what you dream of. It takes hard work, time, and patience with yourself. Do not be moved by what you see or hear because there will always be something or someone to distract you.
