On April 17, 1906, San Francisco was a dense city bustling with people, and thriving businesses. On April 18, it was in ruins, the victim of a terrifying earthquake and dreadful fire. Over 170 vintage, photographs, some never published before delve into the first earthquake ever photographed. Diese Tageb cher sind, der literarischen Bedeutung ihrer Autorin entsprechend, in mehrfacher Hinsicht bedeutungsvoll: biographisch, werkgenetisch, literarhistorisch (mit einer F lle von Aphorismen) und - das Leben einer Adeligen in der Habsburger Monarchie dokumentierend - kulturgeschichtlich. Der sechste Band umfa t das letzte Lebensjahrzehnt der Dichterin. Es ist die Zeit der sp ten Ehrungen. Nachdem sie 1900 als erste Frau die Ehrendoktorw rde der Universit t Wien erhalten hat, wird sie 1909/10 zum Ehrenmitglied der Schiller- und der Goethegesellschaft ernannt, sie erh lt den Elisabeth-Orden I.
