Sedimentary Facies Reconstruction and Kinematic Restoration of Tight Gas Fields

Sedimentary Facies Reconstruction and Kinematic Restoration of Tight Gas Fields

Anna Alexandra Vackiner

Springer-Verlag Berlin and Heidelberg GmbH Co. K
2013
sidottu
The thesis of Anna Alexandra Vackiner focuses on the geometric architecture and tectonic evolution of the Permian series, combining seismic interpretation (3D block), field studies in an analogue basin (Panamint Valley in California), as well as 2D restoration of representative cross sections through time in order to illustrate the complex interaction between multiphase extension, inversion and salt diapirism. It will be of major interest for exploration geologists involved in tectonically complex areas. - François Roure, August 2012 This thesis improves the understanding and localization of the Upper Rotliegend II tight gas reservoir rock facies. It provides insights into the detailed Upper Rotliegend II palaeo-topography and local tectonically induced sediment thickness changes prior to a multi-phase tectonic overprinting. The research presented in this study further focuses on the tectonically induced synsedimentary facies distribution in transtensional continental settings on the basis of a comparison with a modern field analogue, which enables a detailed analysis of the reservoir rock’s distribution and its properties. The study is rounded off with an analysis of the influence of the multiphase tectonic overprinting on the mature Upper Rotliegend II reservoir rocks.

Adulting Well: Utilizing the Theories and Strategies of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Our culture has taken a dramatic turn in the last few decades from having a strong work ethic, to that of an instant-gratification society. I do not intend to blame any one industry or event for this change; rather, I believe we must recognize the issue and forge onward with a plan to change the course. Adulting Well is a self-help non-fiction book of life strategies and skills utilizing the structure of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). In accessible language and with practical steps, I believe that anyone can apply these skills to their life and learn to delay their short-term urges and achieve their long-term goals.I wrote this book after 11 years of being a therapist and seeing a clear trend developing adult clients avoiding adult tasks. This avoidance tends to be the result of an inability for a person to cope with emotional pain and suffering. The purpose of this book is to teach people to experience pain, cope well, and persist through it all. We must learn to struggle without giving up or numbing out. We need to turn our negative emotional cycles around so that our self-fulfilling prophecy is that of being competent and confident...not of being depressed and anxious.

Parenting is HARD with a capital H. We live in a culture where working parents are expected to parent like they don't have a job and work like they don't have kids. This pressure is unreasonable and leads to anxiety, shame, resentment, and depression This book will allow you to see parenting in a different light and empower you to live a more fulfilling and mindful life.Parenting takes a level of sustained energy from the parent that seems (and often is) unrealistic. The toll that this can take on the body and psyche are no joke. I will help you dive deeper than books of typical parenting tips and help you to improve your functioning as an adult. I will show you how changing your habits and building your values-based identity can elevate your parenting through leading by example.I cannot emphasize enough how much the ideas in this book have enhanced my life, my relationships, and my parenting. It is my hope that you will come away from this book with an increased sense of joy and effectiveness in your life as a working parent. Applying the strategies I shared will not be easy; change requires energy and effort that you may struggle to find at times. I tell you with full confidence though, that applying the ideas shared here may cost you time and energy on the front end but will pay dividends over the coming years of your life This is a 174 page book with included workbook activities and journal prompts for continued self reflection.

Washington Post columnist Alexandra Petri shares her stories of awkwardness in this insightful and supremely funny debut. Most twentysomethings avoid awkwardness. Not Alexandra Petri. She auditioned for America's Next Top Model. She lost Jeopardy by answering "Who is that dude?" One time, she let some cult members baptize her, just to be polite. Alexandra Petri is a connoisseur of the kind of awkwardness most people spend lifetimes avoiding. If John Hodgman and Amy Sedaris had a baby. . .they would never let Petri babysit it. Here, the Washington Post columnist turns her satirical eye on her own life--with hilarious results. And she's here to tell you that interesting things start to happen when you stop caring what people think.

Have you ever wondered exactly what those ‘weeds’ are growing along the kerb or between the cracks in the pavement? Not the pampered plants of parks, front gardens and herbaceous borders, but simply those that exist everywhere and nowhere in particular: the true survivors, the botanical opportunists. In this handy guide, we introduce the most commonplace flowers, shrubs, grasses, mosses and ferns that are to be found on the street, and show the main characteristics by which you can recognise them. Soon you’ll be more alert than ever to the rebellious species of tarmac, wall and gutter as they defy weedkiller, climate change and dog wee. So you can identify the plants you discover in your town as readily as possible, the species are arranged according to their growth form. The book starts with the largest group – herbaceous plants – followed by a few woody plants, grasses, mosses and ferns. The first group is divided again according to flower colour: white, yellow, red/pink, blue/purple and green or brown. Within each colour, you will first find the flowers with a maximum of four petals, then those with five, then those with more than five and finally those with bilaterally symmetrical flowers. So you know quickly which group you are in, there are corresponding symbols in the profile at the bottom of each page. This ingenious little book is sure to enliven even the most mundane walk on the dreariest of days.

sidottu
This book contains a novel theory of random fields estimation of Wiener type, developed originally by the author and presented here. No assumption about the Gaussian or Markovian nature of the fields are made. The theory, constructed entirely within the framework of covariance theory, is based on a detailed analytical study of a new class of multidimensional integral equations basic in estimation theory. This book is suitable for graduate courses in random fields estimation. It can also be used in courses in functional analysis, numerical analysis, integral equations, and scattering theory.

The monograph is devoted to a number of poorly explored problems of non-linear electrodynamics, nuclear physics, and general relativity that are very important for astrophysics, geophysics, and cosmology. In it new theoretical methods are proposed to solve the problems under consideration and to explain a number of puzzling experimental and observational data In the book the authors study the non-linear equations of the Yang-Mills theory and their applications to several unsolved problems of electrodynamics. They find and investigate a non-linear generalisation of the Yukawa meson theory to describe the phenomenon of nuclear saturation and various properties of nuclei. They propose a generalised Dirac's equation to describe the quark structure and anomalous magnetic moments of nucleons. They consider a number of unsolved problems of general relativity and study anomalous properties of gravitational waves. Finally, they find and investigate a generalisation of the Einstein gravitational equations based on Weyl's geometry to explain puzzling properties of spiral galaxies and to apply it to several unsolved problems of cosmology.

A collection of poetry from the 2019 winner of the National Poetry Series, selected by Rosanna Warren In her remarkable and assured debut, Alexandria Hall explores the boundaries and limits of language, place, and the self, as well as the complicated space between safety and danger, intimacy and isolation, playfulness and seriousness, home and away. With a keen eye for the importance of place, Hall shows us daily life in rural Vermont, illuminating the beauty and difficulty inherent in the dichotomies of human language and experience.Incisive and tender, Field Music is a thoughtful and alert collection from a major emerging voice.
