Science-Fiction today would not be the same without the influence of H.G. Wells. Books like The War of the Worlds, The Time Machine and The Island of Dr. Moreau still feel timely over a hundred years later due to their look into technological advances, fantastical creatures, and their social commentary. Now, some of today's top science-fiction, fantasy, and mystery writers pay tribute to the great father of the fantastic. A Tribute to H.G. Wells, Stories Inspired by the Master of Science Fiction Volume 2: Visions of a Dark and Beautiful Future 2021 edition features all-new adventures inspired by his great work including The Time Machine, The Invisible Man, The Island of Dr. Moreau, and many more Selenites walk side-by-side with beasts padding uncomfortably along on two legs. We see, or do not see, invisible men scattering before lumbering tripods as we soar upwards into space, and hurtle ourselves through Time. There are utopias... and there are underworlds. A Dark and Beautiful Future indeed.

Wellsboro, the county seat of Tioga County, owes much of its vitality to dense forests, abundant wildlife, and mountainous terrain. Named by the National Park Service as a Natural Landmark in 1968, nearby Pine Creek Gorge was introduced by George Washington Sears, better known as Nessmuk, in 1860 and later publicized as the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. A weeklong Laurel Festival, organized in 1938, celebrates the canyon, the state flower, and Wellsboro. The Laurel Parade and the Laurel Queen coronation conclude the festivities each year. Wellsboro also owes its long-term prosperity to agriculture, logging, mining, and industry, all of which have contributed to the town's economic survival and growth. Corning Glass Works, a shining example of industrial innovation, made Wellsboro the Christmas Bulb Capital of the World. Described as quaint, Wellsboro is often compared to a New England village. In addition to a row of antique gaslights lining the boulevard, the Penn-Wells Hotel, the Arcadia Theatre, and Dunham's Department Store, all of which date to the early 1900s, add to Main Street's charm, while the Green features a fountain statue of Wynken, Blynken, and Nod.

And when he reaches manhood, he will create himself into what he wants to be and do in life? Is that related to the It 's Just telling you a story in the poem?Marcus: But wait a minute Grandpa, doesn t a man have to first pull his mind together, and then when he reaches manhood he can create himself into what ever he wants to be and do in life Michael: Does that mean that before any of that can happen, doesn t he have to choose what he wants to be and do in life Tyree: Then that leaves the question, how does a child know how to choose what he wants when he becomes a man if he doesn t already have his mind together Orchester III: That is right, when a child reaches five or six years old, people begin to ask him what he wants to be when he grows up. Grandpa, can you tell us a story about thinking for ourselves Grandpa: You are right; your mind is together when you are born. The mind is what it is. Your question becomes, how are you going to use your mind to get what you want in life. Your minds ability to think is the most important thing you have to lead you through life, and it is your responsibility to realize your dreams. The trick is to ask your mind the right questions at the right time. The two, and most important right questions a young man must ask himself is, what do I want, and how much am I going to pay for it? I want, are the key words. And remember, the strength of what you want is the strength of your Game, and the power your mind has to lead you to what you want. What you want in life is serious business.
