Each section considers a unique facet of the creative photographic process and gives you an opportunity to develop your own unique photography expression. Offering a blend of poetry, philosophy, and technique, Ross shares how the art of photography is created by the refinement of the photographer's eye. The photographer's eye processes and contemplates a variety of creative lenses of mind, focusing on subtle details in microseconds, being in the zone, and having a single-mindedness meditation. He shows how each element of the creative photographic process must be considered to enlighten and refine your photographic sensibilities: the artist, the camera, the light, the time, the place, the dynamics of visual grammar and composition, the photograph as a visual communication, and the viewers' experience of the image. Presenting an inspiring, informative, and beautiful collection of thoughts, images, and techniques of photography, integrating poetry, Zen philosophy, insights, and instruction, Zen of Photography Introducing Light inspires you to refine your photographer's eye and develop your creative photography process to create great images.

This means that filmmakers and game developers now have access to a high quality, affordable solution that was previously only available to specialist studios. This book will focus on using UE5 and MHC from a filmmaker angle. Firstly, you'll understand how to use the online MHC to create a digital character, changing its facial structure, body type, and clothing. After that, you'll learn all the necessary steps to bring the character into UE5 and set it up for animation. Then, using an iPhone and a webcam to capture face and body movements, you'll mix these motion capture files, refine the animations using the MetaHuman Control Rig, and save these takes to be reused and edited again within the Level Sequencer. On top of that, you'll learn how to create a rendered video file for film production using both the Level Sequencer and a VR Cinematic Camera. By the end of this book, you'll have created your own MetaHuman character, as well as face and body motion capture data, and learned the necessary skills to give your future projects further realism and creative control. What you will learnCreate your own bespoke character using MHCDevelop custom faces based on real peopleUtilize Blueprints to take control of your digital characterRetarget animations using the Unreal MannequinUse DeepMotion and Live Link for complete body and face animationUse the Control Rig to refine animationsExport and render your characterWho this book is forThis book is for filmmakers and hobbyists who are planning to make a film using Unreal Engine for the first time, having worked in live action or purely digital media previously, either professionally or as a hobby. In 1914 the Boston Braves experienced the greatest come-from-behind season in baseball history. A perennially woeful team, the Braves rose from the ashes of last place—fifteen games behind on July 4th—to battle in the World Series against the Philadelphia Athletics, one of the most dominant teams of all time. Baseball fans witnessed one of sport’s most spectacular comebacks, and Boston’s National League team earned a new designation: “The Miracle Braves.” Baseball’s Greatest Comeback: The Miracle Braves of 1914 follows the Boston Braves through this rollercoaster year, from their miserable start to their inspiring finish. A collection of likeable, determined, and highly unconventional ballplayers, the Braves endeared themselves to fans who rooted enthusiastically for the team. Sitting in last place midway through the season, the youthful group of castoffs and misfits, many of whom had been rejected by other major league teams, followed the lead of Walter “Rabbit” Maranville, Johnny “The Crab” Evers, and George “Big Daddy” Stallings to turn things around. The Braves battled their way up the standings, finishing the second half of the season with a miraculous 52 and 14 record. They went on to defeat John McGraw’s powerful New York Giants for the pennant and found themselves face-to-face with the talented Philadelphia Athletics in the World Series. On the 100th anniversary of this memorable season, the 1914 Boston Braves are still remembered as one of the greatest comeback teams in baseball history. Full of timeless images and memorable characters—including a fanatically superstitious manager, a cheerfully madcap star, and an obsessively driven, yet highly sensitive captain—this book will inform and entertain baseball fans and sports historians alike.

Every reputable builder knows the importance of good foundations. If the foundations are anything other than strong and firm, then regardless of how well they are built upon, the building will be unsafe, and liable to crash to the ground. This is equally true for the disciple of Jesus. Such a one must have a sound, and solid, foundation if the life lived is to have any depth, and if they are to be able to resist the one who "... prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." (I Peter 5:8). It is my hope that, whilst making no claim to be a theologian, I may enable the general reader to gain some understanding of the great themes of Christian doctrine, using the words of The Apostles' Creed as a base.

"Could you please teach your students to do what pastors actually do?" Such was the question many ministry leaders asked Brian A. Ross after his transition from a lead pastor to a full-time seminary professor. The Practical (And Indispensable ) Pastor's Handbook: Exploring What You Actually Need to Do as A 21st-Century Minister is Ross' answer.Being a pastor encompasses far more than theology and scripture, despite how important that knowledge is. A pastor is responsible for leading a church, including everything from welcoming new members and prayerfully constructing sermons that speak to the congregation's heart to managing the budget and staying ahead of potential legal pitfalls. Leadership, delegation, teamwork, and organization are all tools in the pastor's toolbox, along with planning just about everything well in advance. Divine duty or mundane practicality, the pastor is responsible for seeing it done. The Practical (And Indispensable ) Pastor's Handbook presents Ross' guidelines and tips for new solo and senior pastors on a wide variety of topics, including a manual of "do/don't and why" generated from his studies, observations, and personal experience. While there is, as he says, no "right way" to minister, his handbook has brought benefit and fresh insight to both students and veterans alike.Enlightening topics include: - Handling Sundays- Handling Leadership- Handling Ministries- Handling Pastoral And Self-Care

The Secret Aqueduct: Brian Heaton-Ross During the eighteenth century, JJ Rousseau, the French philosopher, asked a soul-searching question: 'Why, if we are born free, are we everywhere in chains' Over 2000 years before Rousseau was born, Plato, the Greek philosopher, wrote his powerful allegory of 'The Cave', in which he asked a similar question: 'Why do so many people live out their days enchained within a shadowy reality bereft of Light' In our current era, many people, suffering from a kind of restless malaise, an absence of any deep feelings of belonging, and a sense of disillusionment with traditional voices of 'authority', are asking similar questions.Forty years ago, the author had a graphic dream which he named 'The Wasteland'. The dream served as a powerful Wake-Up Call which was instrumental in creating a complete shift in the compass of his perceptions and the landscape of his life. In 'The Secret Aqueduct', he writes about these shifts, using some fundamental blueprints of archetypal perceptions as a loose framework and providing numerous personal examples from his own Journey, including 39 dreams which served as guiding lights during a critical decade of his life.'The significant problems we have cannot be solvedat the same level of thinking with which we created them.'Albert Einstein
Is death the end of our story, or do we go on? If life does continue after death, where and how will we live? What happens to us after we die is not only a matter of speculation, but also a matter of debate. This is particularly true within the church, and though some would like to believe that the issue has long been settled, it most certainly remains open for discussion. In The Death Myth, author and theologian Brian M. Rossiter investigates what the Bible actually says about the afterlife, and he carefully explains how an honest reflection on the traditional Christian view of death will show that this view is often misguided. This traditional view--that the deceased persist and live on as conscious immaterial souls--is a doctrine that while tenable may not cohere with scriptural truths about the nature of the soul and body, the timing of the resurrection, and the meaning of salvation. While many Christians believe that the human soul departs to either a place of bliss or a place of torment after death, few have truly evaluated the biblical teachings on the subject. More than that, the implications of our beliefs on the issue are rarely acknowledged. Can the soul live apart from the body? Do immaterial realms for the dead exist? Can ghosts or spirits communicate with the living? When these matters are deeply investigated, the conclusions may force us to reconsider everything we thought we knew about life after death and the very nature of our existence.
