Wir sind uns bewuBt, daB es schwierig ist, den wenig anschaulichen Stoff verstlindlich darzustellen. Die Kenntnis und die theoretischen Zusam menhlinge sind aber Voraussetzung fiir die Oberwachung und filr die Therapie der mit dem Sliure-Basen-Haushalt und den Blutgasen zusam menhlingenden Vitalfunktionsstorungen. Este trabalho est diretamente relacionado com a Miss o ASTER, que a primeira miss o brasileira ao espa o profundo, a qual almeja enviar uma sonda espacial n o tripulada ao Sistema Triplo de Asteroides 2001SN263. Durante a Miss o, a sonda deve orbitar o Asteroide por meio de rbitas ressonantes com o Sistema Triplo. No entanto, algumas destas rbitas podem conduzir a sonda espacial colis o com o pr prio Asteroide a ser estudado, o que causaria a perda do equipamento e o fracasso da Miss o. In teaching an introduction to the finite element method at the undergraduate level, a prudent mix of theory and applications is often sought. In many cases, analysts use the finite element method to perform parametric studies on potential designs to size parts, weed out less desirable design scenarios, and predict system behavior under load. In this book, we discuss common pitfalls encountered by many finite element analysts, in particular, students encountering the method for the first time. We present a variety of simple problems in axial, bending, torsion, and shear loading that combine the students' knowledge of theoretical mechanics, numerical methods, and approximations particular to the finite element method itself. We also present case studies in which analyses are coupled with experiments to emphasize validation, illustrate where interpretations of numerical results can be misleading, and what can be done to allay such tendencies. Challenges in presenting the necessary mix oftheory and applications in a typical undergraduate course are discussed. We also discuss a list of tips and rules of thumb for applying the method in practice. Der Band "Rheumatologie" wurde im Jahre 1975 konzipiert. Dennoeh dauerte es bis zum Jahre 1982, bis aIle Beitdige, zu einem nieht unerhebliehen Teil von anderen als den urspriinglieh vorgesehenen Autoren, vorlagen. Die damalige Konzeption wurde auf einer Klassifikation aufgebaut, die inzwisehen eine Revision erfahren hat. Diese wird zwar im einleitenden Kapitel in einer gekiirzten Form noeh beriieksiehtigt, doeh korreliert der Aufbau der Kapitel nieht in allen Einzelheiten mit dieser Fassung. Wesentliehe neue Erkenntnisse wurden beriieksiehtigt. Dennoeh finden sieh nieht aIle in der Klassifikation enthaltenen Erkrankungen im vOrliegenden Band wieder. Dabei handelt es sieh jedoeh urn seltene Krankheitsbilder, meist nur als Begleitmanifestationen anderer Grundkrankheiten, die sieh in den entspreehenden Biinden des Handbuehes finden. Der Blick in die Klassifikation mag geniigen, urn hier mogliehe Hinweise zu erhalten und Zusammenhiinge zu erkennen. Wesentliehe und klassisehe Krankheitsbilder fehlen auf jeden Fall nieht. Erkrankungen, die eindeutig zum orthopiidisehen Faehgebiet gehoren, wird man in diesem Band nieht finden, wenn sie aueh, wie z. B. Myosen und Myalgien sowie statisehe Probleme, zu den hiiufigen mehr oder weniger banalen "rheuma- tisehen" Besehwerden in der Praxis gehoren. Die Aufnahme aller dieser in der Grenzziehung problematiseher Krankheitsbilder in einen Band eines Hand- buehes fUr Innere Medizin hiitte dessen Rahmen gesprengt. Nur die Tendopa- thien als differentialdiagnostiseh wiehtige Krankheitsgruppe wurden in den Band aufgenommen. Die erwiihnte Klassifikation ist eine Klassifikation der Erkran- kungen des Bewegungsapparates, in der natiirlieh aueh aIle orthopiidisehen Krankheitsbilder enthalten sind.

When an enigmatic stranger asks private investigator and self-proclaimed realist Birk Dillinger for help protecting a woman's life, the woman's disappearance impels Dillinger on what at first seems like a straight-forward murder case of a prostitute called Maria but devolves into a search for a woman who might not have been a prostitute at all. Facts are scant and not only does the identity of the victim remain a mystery, so does what happened to her since there is neither a corpse nor anyone willing to confirm the victim's whereabouts. Despite Birk's efforts, a man who calls himself D faults Birk for doing nothing to save Maria, while also leaving him packages containing body parts. Suspecting that the man who hired him was also the murderer, Birk struggles in vain to prove it, but facts are fleeting; and the more Birk involves himself in the case the more the answers elude him. Confusion snowballs until it feels like no one is what they claim to be and everyone is lying.
