There is always more to explore about the history of a people. This book, a sequel to PoEmotions Black History: Our Origins, Our Struggles, Our Future (2018), goes a little further into the history of African Americans through the use of poetry. Like its predecessor, it tries to serve two purposes. The first is giving America and the world a better awareness of Black History. The second is to educate young people of all races across the country and the world. Some of today's youth may have only heard tiny bits about how Blacks endured slavery, Jim Crow laws, and segregation during the Civil Rights Movement. In addition, names ranging from Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman to Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks may only be passing through their minds in this era of hashtags and changing trends. It also gives some perspective on the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement into national prominence and why it is such an important message in this modern era.By using poetry, this book gives the reader brief synopses of certain periods and people that were pivotal in Black History. From those, they can further their knowledge and understanding during their own leisure. Every poem in this book is told from the perspective and learning experience of one person. Even if you may not agree with certain things that may be said, please respect the opinion.

Out of a sinful and secular world, the Lord called Abraham to live a life of faith. This entailed Abraham to leave everything he knew and travel to a land he had never seen. Abraham boldly began his life of faith, yet he still had moments of hesitation and delay throughout his life. It wasn't until Abraham yielded himself fully to the will of God in his life of faith that he received the son of prophecy, Isaac, and safely brought him through the long journey to the Promise Land. Although Abraham is considered the hero of faith, he is in no way without his flaws. In fact, we can learn as much from his flaws as from his virtues. In studying Abraham's life, we'll notice his struggle to trust God, especially when times get tough. Every true believer faces conflicts and trials that test our ability to trust God; therefore, Abraham's life gives us much to glean from concerning the Christian pilgrimage.
