20 Things My Father Never told me But, My Mother Did

This book was written to show my appreciation and gratitude for what my mother taught me as a child. I never knew my father but I was raised by a loving mother, in a loving home. It has been said that history has taught us that kids born in single- parent households are more likely to end up as failures. I'm writing this to dispel the lies about "nothing good can come from the hood." Anyone growing up in America can become whatever he or she desires if given the opportunity, proper nurturing, and an education. If we are to become that person that God has destined for us to be, it is up to us to prepare and not be hindered by people or circumstances. Adversity comes only to strengthen us for that journey from zero to hero. No man has the power to hold you down unless you give it to him. We owe it to the millions of oppressed people in the past that had the desire to be somebody but not the will to do it. 20 THINGS THAT MY FATHER NEVER TOLD ME BUT MY MOTHER DID... was written to show that all it takes is one person to believe in you and how being loved can make you unstoppable. I have never read about anyone being able to stand in front of a train once that train is gaining momentum in route to its destination. This book is not just about how to defeat the things that hold you back, but to continue to move forward to your pre- determined position in this life. I hope this book blesses you as much as it blessed me putting it together and writing it. REMEMBER: WITH GOD THERE IS NO PAIN WITHOUT PURPOSE

The ongoing slaughter of innocent Black lives provoked me to write this book as a wake-up call to what is going on in America and abroad. No parent should have to experience the death of a child especially at the hands of those who have been sworned to serve and protect. The time is now that we as a people must stop allowing the killing of our children by those who could care less whether we survive or not. We as a people must start to value ourselves before others will begin to see the value in us. This book called "Marked" was created as my way of expressing my frustration of being sick and tired of seeing brothers and sisters being murdered for nothing more than being, African in America. Loving others begins with loving ourselves.

As we strive to become a better people, surrounded by evil people, hellbent on our destruction. We must at this point begin to see people as they are. The war on drugs was a war declared on the people of color, especially the Black female. The Black woman is naturally a nurturer, and the first teacher of her children puts her in a dominant position that she can either tear down or build up her children. Marked TOO: The Systemic Annihilation of the Black Female tells of the techniques used and our naivety as a people of the effectiveness of these techniques. To survive, we as a people must become familiar with these methods and learn how to counter them. We must understand that understand that for our nation to survive, we must protect the Black woman at all cost because our survival depends on it. A country can rise no higher than its woman. The Black woman is the cornerstone of our black nation....NO BLACK WOMAN EQUALS NO BLACK NATION.
