Religious-based violence is provoking worldwide anxiety and terror. States around the world, especially in Middle East and North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, are facing violent extremism. Violent extremism has become a key security issue and is perceived as an existential security threat to states and individuals. That is the case of Cameroon, Niger, Nigeria and Chad in the Chad Basin area. The Lake Chad basin is facing a major conflict due to the threats of Boko Haram, which claims radical Islam, and identifies with the ISL. This movement appears a threat to the stability of States and the security of a part of their population. Thus, the management of the conflict and the stabilization of the region is about containing the insurgency by convincing the population with an adoption of exceptional measures and a military option discourse. But after three years of military operation conducted through the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), the conflict is not ending and needs a new approach. This work analyze the choice made by the countries in the Lake Chad Basin for the resolution of the conflict in an environment of security and development challenges.

Young Chadians living in urban areas are in favour of the least effort, personal initiative and the role of job creation. They are reluctant to take the initiative because of their wait-and-see attitude. Yet youth is not a period of life, it is a state of mind, an effect of the will, a quality of the imagination, an emotional intensity, a victory of courage over timidity, of the taste for adventure over the love of comfort. In the province of N'Djam na (Chad's political capital), young people are constantly deploying their strategies, often informally, by forming groups in micro-enterprises. This aroused our curiosity to understand the reasons that motivate these determined young entrepreneurs. In other words, are young people capable of initiating, planning and managing a business in order to contribute to sustainable development? The data collected during the focus group enables us to verify the issue of youth entrepreneurship in the provinces.

Africa, the land of slavery, has seen some dark periods in its history. It contains all forms of slavery, particularly intra-African and extra-African. From the Arab slave trade to the slave trade, the continent in general, and Chad in particular, has not been totally spared from this phenomenon, which has continued into the 21st century of modern times. Following the abolition of all forms of human trafficking, considered a serious violation of human rights, sanctioned by the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights and international and national conventions ratified by Chad since 1960, human trafficking and child labor continue to be observed under the complicit and powerless gaze of the authorities. The worst forms of child labor and human trafficking are on the increase. From girls to boys, all are enslaved and abused. Victims of horrors, this practice affects vulnerable families or people sold, kidnapped or hijacked for the purposes of exploitation, which this book seeks to shed light on.

The theme of our research is "the problem of land disputes in urban areas: the case of the first district of N'Djam na (Chad)". The choice of this theme was motivated by the resurgence of struggles observed between the "Boulamat" and other actors over land issues. There is also a large body of literature on land issues. Notably the works of (LAMBITAM: 2004, HOUDEINGAR:2012, MOUPOU et al. 2010, DONG MOUGNOL et al 2010, LEUMAKO NONGNI: 2015, NJOYA NDAM 2021), very few explore the interference of traditional chiefs in struggles over land. The question that guided our analysis was formulated as follows: How can we understand and explain the fact that the "Boulamat", who are supposed to establish peace and harmony between populations, have become the instigators of land-related tensions? In other words, how can we account for the Boulamat's actions in relation to land? To answer this question, we have formulated the following hypothesis: the upsurge in land disputes observed in Chad's urban areas stems from land speculation organized by the "Boulamat".

There are many obstacles in the way of educating refugee children, especially in settings such as the Goz Beida Camp in Chad. This study explores the many problems that prevent the schooling of refugee children in the camp, looking at things like resource scarcity, linguistic difficulties, psychological trauma, and gender inequality. In view of Chad's unstable geopolitical position and its function as a safe haven for refugees escaping nearby conflicts, this study intends to clarify the particular difficulties that refugee's children face when trying to receive an education inside the camp. Through an investigation of the effects of these obstacles on both academic achievement and general well-being, the study aims to offer valuable perspectives that can direct targeted efforts towards improving educational equity and directing legislative changes. In the end, this study adds to the conversation on how to better the educational prospects and results for children of refugees by supporting coordinated, inclusive efforts to meet the special needs of marginalized groups in refugee settings.

This book is based on my PhD thesis and discusses the concept of a green supply chain in the Chadian industry. It emphasizes the importance of a green supply chain in addressing environmental concerns and promoting a more sustainable future. The benefits of implementing green supply chain strategies, such as cost reduction and product efficiency, are also highlighted. Furthermore, the book introduces the concept of sustainability and its significance in Chad.Implementing green supply chain strategies offers several benefits, including enhancing brand image, capturing a larger market share, and reducing costs associated with health and environmental damage. Chadian companies can reduce their carbon footprint and conserve resources through these strategies. However, there are challenges that need to be addressed in implementing green supply chain strategies. Larger companies have easier access to knowledge and technology, while smaller companies face difficulties in transitioning to a green approach. Additionally, slick marketing and confusion regarding the true environmental benefits of products have been reported. Implementing green strategies can also be costly initially.

In recent years, the fall in oil prices in 2014 has had repercussions on the public finances of oil-producing countries, which have been unable to build up sufficient financial reserves. And Chad, like all these other African countries, is not spared from this situation due to its heavy dependence on oil revenues. This study examines the experiences of civil servants in terms of their ability to withstand the crisis. It is part of a development sociology that analyzes solutions to crises initiated from "outside", and highlights the creative and adaptive capacity of civil servants. Dynamic sociology and strategic analysis were used to understand social transformations and identify civil servants' strategies. The results show that civil servants in N'Djamena are responding to the crisis by reducing their standard of living and engaging in parallel activities. The latter are a means of obtaining additional income, enabling them to adapt to the demands of everyday life.
