Chester Seth Husted was 24 years old when he was killed in action while fighting with the U.S. Marines in France, a little more than a month before World War ended. The son of Wallace and Emma Sutherland Husted, Chester was born in Rialto, California, on March 21, 1894. He spent his early childhood in Highland, California, and moved with his family first to San Fernando and then to Corona in about 1908. This account traces Chester's time in the Marines, from his enlistment to his death, based on letters he sent home and which his mother preserved, and on letters she and others wrote him but which he did not receive before his death and were returned. The letters here are reproduced verbatim, except for some editing for clarity purposes, and I hope will serve as a time capsule of World War I and life in Corona, California. About the autho: rJerry D. Boyd is a retired journalist and nephew of Chester Husted. He grew up hearing stories about "Uncle Chester" the war hero, and reading his letters.

Among his duck family, Chester is not a common duck, I would rather say, that it is a very special duck. He is well known for being caring and organized, he always listens to his parents and helps a lot at home. But there is something very important that he still has to learn and it is TO BE ON TIME. A trip to Scotland, the land of his ancestors, where he meets Nessie and his cousins, made him change his point of view and now he is a different duck.

Are you looking for a children's book that is highly entertaining, great for early readers, perfect for bedtime stories? Well, Chesters children's storybook has it all.Among his duck family, Chester is not a common duck, I would rather say, he is a very special duck. He is well known for being caring and organized, he always listens to his parents and helps a lot at home. But for Chester, there is something very important that he still needs to learn and it is to BE PATIENT. The funny thing about this story is that his dad has the virtue of being very patient when he goes fishing and that is why he is very good doing so.This is an excellent read for beginning and early readers. Each story is easy to read and relaxing with very nice images for younger readers

The literary scholar Alexander Balloch Grosart (1827–99) reprinted this allegorical poem by Robert Chester (fl.c.1586–1604) with an introduction and notes in 1878. Grosart incorrectly identified the poem's author as a certain Sir Robert Chester of Royston. Later research suggests Chester served as a chaplain or secretary in the household of the work's dedicatee, Sir John Salusbury. Originally printed in 1601, the grandiloquent, meandering poem is chiefly remembered for the works appended to it. These include original poems by Chester's contemporaries, Shakespeare, Jonson, Chapman and Marston, as well as the anonymous 'Ignoto' and 'Vatum Chorus'. All the poems treat Chester's theme, an invented myth describing the chaste, sacrificial love between a phoenix and a turtledove. Scholars continue to debate the identity of the historical figures signified by these birds, especially in Shakespeare's cryptic contribution.
