In a sisterly P.S. I Love You for the digital age, when an outgoing social media influencer leaves crippling medical debt behind after her tragically young death from leukemia, her final wish is for her introverted younger sister to take over her accounts and complete her bucket list while her millions of fans follow along. Perfect for fans of Josie Silver and Rebecca Serle, Amy T. Matthews' wryly funny, bittersweet new novel puts a uniquely poignant, achingly uplifting twist on life after loss, dreams that can come true--and how a strong sister bond can be timeless. My dying wish is for you to finish my bucket list. I refuse to die without knowing this list will be completed. And I refuse to die without knowing my family will be okay... Jodie Boyd is a shy and anxious twenty-something, completely unsure what to do with her life. Her older sister, Bree, is anadventurous, globe-trotting, hugely successful Instagram influencer with more than a million followers. She's the most alive person Jodie knows--up until Bree's unfathomable, untimely death from Leukemia. The Boyds are devastated, not to mention overwhelmed with medical debt. But Bree thought of everything--and soon, Jodie is shocked by a new post on her sister'sInstagram feed. The first of many Bree recorded in secret, the post foretells a jaw-dropping challenge for Jodie: to complete Bree's very publicbucket list. From "Fly over Antarctica," to "Perform a walk-on cameo in a Broadway musical," if Jodie does it--and keeps allBree's followers--a corporate sponsor will pay off the staggering medical debt. If she gains followers, the Boyds won't be the only ones to benefit. It's crazy. It's terrifying. It's impossible, immoral even, to refuse. So, despite the whole world watching, Jodie plunges in, never imagining that in death, her sister will teach her how to live, and that the last item on the list--"Fall in love"--may just prove to be the easiest.

"Part of the apostolic and prophetic function is to continually reinforce The Foundation against the threatening encroachments of overt attack from critics, as well as subtle erosion for the intoxicating, faddish novelties that the elect seem so vulnerable to. Boiling down to basics leads to the simplicity that is in Christ, where we prosper in His life.

Somewhen Else is a story of Dave Heston and Laura Benson, who may have never met. Dave and Laura are each having intimations of a life in which they did meet while passing through the Philadelphia International Airport in 1983. Living thousands of miles apart, both seem to recall that after having talked in an airport restaurant, they canceled their respective flights and together booked a flight to New Orleans. Have they met? Will they meet? Somewhen Else is a story about stories. We all have stories. Both Dave and Laura tell us their stories, as well as tell us the stories told to them by people they meet and love. But all the stories can't be true. Can they? Following the 2017 hurricanes Irma and Maria, Dave, a widowed retired lawyer. lives in the cistern of his storm ruined home overlooking Coral Bay on St. John in the Virgin Islands. A poem and musician, in his youth he headed up "Big Dave and the Hestones," a band that opened for Bill Haley in the early 50s.Laura, also widowed, is a retired newspaper reporter living in a restored log home on Clarks Creek in Valle Crucis an unincorporated community in the northwest North Carolina mountains. She has been working on a book detailing a horrific murder and the subsequent trial of the killer. Like Dave, she is determined to live a full and independent life.In a third part of the narrative, David Henson and Laura Benson, longtime residents of New Orleans, are threatened by Reuban Beachamp. Beachamp, who has killed and evaded conviction was wrongly convicted of and imprisoned at Angola for a murder he did not commit.Somewhen Else is more than the story of Dave and Laura. Place and the relationship between place and human beings is central to the novel. Dave is a north American living in but not of a community that resulted from the displacement of people during the period of enslavement and abandonment, one that is in many ways a colony of the United States. In lesser ways, the same is true for the Appalachia where Laura was raised, has lived and worked. Both St. John and northwest North Carolina have seen their local cultures and mores affected by a colonizing tourist industry.Somewhen Else is a story about the importance of stories. It has a complex narrative structure. The first part of the novel is told in the third person by a journalist Dave Heston meets on a delayed flight as he travels from St. John to visit his son in Pennsylvania. Feeling he is losing control of his story; Dave cancels his agreement with the journalist and takes control of his narrative. The second part is his first person retelling. Laura's narrative is fully in the first person. Section three, written in the third person, tells of the life David and Laura have lived most of their adult years in New Orleans living in an apartment in the French Quarter.

Somebody Else's Blues is essentially an urban coming of faith story. Whether one grew up in church or came to the knowledge of Christ later in life, it is usually a trial by fire that causes our relationship with the Father to be truly desired. These dark places are actually what causes us to grow and our relationship with the Father to become solidified and uniquely our own. Through the lives of Brenda, her mother Queen, and her friend Rita, we get to experience faith in its various stages: faith that is being found. Faith that is being tested, and faith that - for strengths sake - is being remembered. For the protagonist Brenda Mason, those dark places are a repeating pattern of behavior with men and ill-placed negative regard towards herself. Brenda is a beautiful, intelligent, and talented young mother, but she can't see it. Russell, her child's father is the problem - or so she thinks. Her journey is about identifying the true source of what is really holding her back and becoming free from second-hand bondage. Queen Mason is in love with her husband, Ray Paul, but Ray Paul is in love with everybody else. She loves him to her own hurt, and to the neglect of her relationship with her daughter. Queen's pain is deep rooted, and its origins began in childhood - an experience that she only remembers as her dreams give her glimpses into a past life that happened in another country. Queen will find that being thrown away doesn't mean that she isn't valuable. She will need to remember the seeds of faith sown by the woman who raised her to help her to find her way back to the Father and find restoration in all of her broken places. Rita McGuire is both friend and counselor to Brenda, but she knows that the textbook talks will not help her. She decides to invest in Brenda beyond the responsibilities of her 9 to 5 job, and bring her closer into her nucleus. She wants to be a God-friend to Brenda and not just a good-friend. However, Brenda and Rita's worlds will collide in a way that puts them on opposite sides of their rolls: The teacher becomes a student of her own lessons and must decide whether to practice what she preaches or fail the test and lose everything that's important to her. With all of the things people are searching for, fighting about, and reaching to obtain, the Father simply wants to know will He find faith when He comes. Somebody Else's Blues is a literary multi-cultural soul food of sorts with relatable examples of three women on that journey who will help us to see that we are all more alike than different. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will thoroughly enjoy Somebody Else's Blues.
