The entire appellative vocabulary of Old High German (approx. 30,000 words) is structured and explained through classification into approx. 2,900 word families, visual clarification of the internal structure of each individual word, assigned structural formulas, definitions and references. The dictionary also includes an alphabetical list of isolated words (approx. 750), a complete structured list of prefix and suffix words, as well as an alphabetical index.

The series Beihefte zur Zeitschrift für die alttestamentliche Wissenschaft (BZAW) covers all areas of research into the Old Testament, focusing on the Hebrew Bible, its early and later forms in Ancient Judaism, as well as its branching into many neighboring cultures of the Ancient Near East and the Greco-Roman world. BZAW welcomes submissions that make an original and significant contribution to the field; demonstrate sophisticated engagement with the relevant secondary literature; and are written in readable, logical, and engaging prose.
Since the Kierkegaard Studies Monograph Series (KSMS) was first published in 1997, it has served as the authoritative book series in the field. Starting from 2011 the Kierkegaard Studies Monograph Series will intensify the peer-review process with a new editorial and advisory board. KSMS is published on behalf of the Søren Kierkegaard Research Centre at the University of Copenhagen. KSMS publishes outstanding monographs in all fields of Kierkegaard research. This includes Ph.D. dissertations, Habilitation theses, conference proceedings and single author works by senior scholars. The goal of KSMS is to advance Kierkegaard studies by encouraging top-level scholarship in the field. The editorial and advisory boards are deeply committed to creating a genuinely international forum for publication which integrates the many different traditions of Kierkegaard studies and brings them into a constructive and fruitful dialogue. To this end the series publishes monographs in English and German. Potential authors should consult the Submission guidelines. All submissions will be blindly refereed by established scholars in the field. Only high-quality manuscripts will be accepted for publication. Potential authors should be prepared to make changes to their texts based on the comments received by the referees.
In the present-day debate on free will, Kant's theory of freedom has been dismissed as bad metaphysics. This however leaves decisive questions partially unanswered, namely 1. To what concept of freedom does Kant lay claim? 2. What functions are ascribed to it? 3. What proof does Kant advance to justify it? The author demonstrates that Kant's theory has not been adequately represented in all three points, and resumes the negotiation about its systematic validity. Bojanowski demonstrates why the practice of morality cannot dispense with Kant's concept of autonomy as absolute freedom, and on the basis of Kant's epistemic critique he defends this concept against a deterministic moral scepticism. In conclusion, he demonstrates why this concept does not fail when faced with the possibility of morally evil acts, but that in fact talking about morally evil acts is not possible without it.
In previous exegesis of the Epistle to the Romans, God has scarcely ever been presented as a separate object of study. The present study is devoted to this central topic, and by analysing important sections of the Epistle to the Romans demonstrates that it is neither Jesus Christ nor anthropology that provides the decisive pattern of argument, but God. This has consequences both for Paul s self-image and for the question of whether Paul s thinking and his image of God are to be regarded as still being Jewish or already being Christian."

Neben den Grundlagen werden auch stochastische Prozesse, Martingale und Anwendungsbeispiele behandelt. Die notwendigen Grundlagen über Maßtheorie und metrische Räume werden bereit gestellt. Der Text kann als eine hochklassige und motivierende Grundlage für einen ambitionierten dreisemestrigen einführenden Kurs über Wahrscheinlichkeitstheorie dienen.
Spätestens seit der Französischen Revolution geriet ‚Adel‘ als politisches Konzept in die Defensive. In den literarischen Texten wie auch in den Lebensläufen zahlreicher Autoren der Romantik ist der Adel dennoch erstaunlich präsent. Analysen zu Texten von Novalis, Tieck, Kleist, Brentano, Eichendorff u.a. erweisen, dass Bedeutungsaspekte von ‚Adel‘ wie ‚Spiel‘, ‚Anökonomie‘, ‚Rittertum‘, ‚Genealogie‘ (dem Adel zugeschriebene Praktiken also) zur Realisierung romantischer Transzendentalpoesie beitragen. An der Schwelle moderner Autorschaft bewegen sich zudem die Romantiker zwischen einem Adel der Geburt und einem Aristokratismus der Distanz zum literarischen Markt.Kulturhistorische und literaturwissenschaftliche Fragestellungen werden verschränkt zu einer ‚Kulturpoetik‘, einem „Studium der kollektiven Erzeugung unterschiedlicher kultureller Praktiken und d[er] Erforschung der Beziehungen zwischen ihnen“ (Stephen Greenblatt): In ihrer Summe konfigurieren literarische und andere neue Entwürfe von ‚Adel‘ „soziale Energie“ noch im Zeichen des sozialen Abstiegs und des langsamen Abschieds von einer jahrhundertealten Kultur.
This study is the first extensive scholarly treatise on the Chapter of St. Peter s in the Vatican since the 18th century. It analyzes the statutes of the Chapter, its prosopographical composition as well as the relationship to the popes. The appendix contains concise biographies of the canons and an edition of the two oldest interest registers of the Chapter of St. Peter s. A comparison with the chapters of St. Giovanni in Laterano and St. Maria Maggiore reveals the outstanding position of the Chapter of St. Peter s with respect to the structure of the city and to the Curia."

An der Heidelberger Akademie der Wissenschaften entsteht der erste umfassende historische und kritische Kommentar zum Werk Friedrich Nietzsches.Der Kommentar zu Friedrich Nietzsches Werken f hrt Ergebnisse der bisherigen Forschung zusammen und erweitert den Kenntnisstand zugleich erheblich. Einleitende berblickskommentare stellen Nietzsches Schriften in den konzeptionellen Zusammenhang, erl utern ihre Struktur und bieten Informationen zur Entstehungs- und Wirkungsgeschichte. Umfangreiche Stellenkommentare gehen auf einzelne Textpartien und ihre Quellen ein. So entsteht ein neuer Zugang zu Nietzsches Werken. F r die k nftige Nietzsche-Forschung bildet dieser Kommentar eine unentbehrliche Grundlage. Die Gliederung des Kommentars folgt der Kritischen Studienausgabe (KSA). Insgesamt sind sechs B nde vorgesehen, die in Teilb nde untergliedert werden. Ein siebter Band soll Verzeichnisse und Register enthalten. Die Ausgabe wird 2023 abgeschlossen sein.
