Whites measure whites with a very different yardstick - unashamed Apartheid administration of the law.Based on available evidence, the English law is equal; its administration isn't..-----Original Message-----From: George RothnieTo: [email protected]: Mon, 8 Mar 2010 20:19Subject: Re Meeting 9th MarchHi Ola, We are scheduled to meet tomorrow evening at my surgery about 5.30ish.Unfortunately something has cropped up which necessytates me having topostpone the meeting. GeorgeThe report, by the OECD, warns that the UK needs to take significant action to boost the basic skills of the nation's young people. The 460-page study is based on the first-ever survey of literacy, numeracy and problem-solving at work skills of 16 to 65-year-old in 24 countries, with almost 9,000 people taking part in England and Northern Ireland to make up the UK results. The findings showed that England and Northern Ireland have some of the highest proportions of adults scoring no higher than Level 1 in literacy and numeracy - the lowest level on the OECD's scale. This suggests that their skills in the basics are no better than that of a 10-year-old.AN IMBECILE: AN ADULT WITH THE BASIC SKILLS OF A CHILD."It is incumbent upon the court and all those professionals involved to conclude court proceedings as quickly as possible. This hopefully ensures that a child has stability, love and affection and the parents working together to ensure that he has the best opportunity of developing academically and emotional." Dr Geraint Evans, Postgraduate Tutor, OXFORD.The Prime Minister invited foreign students to come to the UK to drink brackish water from the shallow wells of Dr Geraint Evans and his type, in exchange for valuable consideration; why is the Prime Minister not a YAHOO BOY (FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION)? Based on available evidence, Dr Stephanie Twidale (TD) - British Army Officer - Territorial Defence, unrelentingly lied under oath; she did not resort to criminality (Persecutory Negrophobia and Negrophobic Perjury) because I was a stammerer. An Analysis of Jonathan Riley-Smith's The First Crusade and the Idea of Crusading
Perhaps no work of history written in the 20th century has done more to undermine an existing consensus and cause its readers to re-evaluate their own preconceptions than has Jonathan Riley-Smith's revisionist account of the motives of the first crusaders. Riley-Smith's thesis – based on extensive original research and firmly rooted in his refusal to uncritically accept the evidence or reasoning of earlier historians – is that the majority of the men who travelled to the east on crusade in the years 1098-1100 were primarily motivated by faith. This finding, which ran directly counter to at least four centuries of consensus that other motives, not least greed for land, were more important, has helped to stimulate exciting reappraisals of the whole crusading movement. Riley-Smith backed it up with forensic examination of the key crusader-inspiring speech delivered by Pope Urban II, looking to clarify the meanings of five competing contemporary accounts in order to understand how an initially simple, and rather confused, appeal for help became a sophisticated rationale for the concept of ‘just war.’
The Adventures of Jonathan Roberts: The Union's Quaker Scout in Northern Virginia, 1861-1865
This engaging history provides a portrait of a principled and passionate man who put his life on the line to uphold his convictions and do his duty as he saw it. In a time when brother was turning against brother, New Jersey Quaker Jonathan Roberts championed a message of peace and nonviolence. Despite his commitment to these ideals, Roberts would go on to play a vital part in the Union army's ultimate victory over the Confederates in northern Virginia. Author Gregory P. Wilson has long been fascinated by the legacy left by his colorful ancestor. In his latest work, Wilson tackles the more controversial issues surrounding Roberts's work with the Union army and his idealistic motivations. Roberts did not plan on joining the Union army, but he wasn't about to silence himself in deference to his secessionist-minded neighbors in Fairfax County, Virginia. In return, the rebels sent a lynching party after him and later put a price on his head. Roberts escaped with his life and believed he had a duty to fight the rebellion and slavery. He proceeded to volunteer for the Union army as a noncombatant scout. He also served as Fairfax County Sheriff during the war. Though he continued practicing pacifism in the face of extreme peril, his dedicated service made him a valuable contributor to the Union's cause and the U.S. Army's defense of Washington.
