Ich m chte bei meiner Betrachtung von dem Liebespaar ausgehen, dass sich aus diesen zwei Familien gefunden hat. Jake und Beth haben geheiratet und sind zusammengezogen. "A lie of the mind" zeigt den Tiefpunkt dieser Ehe. Jake hat seine Frau Beth geschlagen - tot geschlagen? Eifersucht und Raserei - Einbildung, nicht Beweise trieben ihn zu der Gewalttat, die den Ausgangspunkt f r die Dramenhandlung bildet. Die geschundenen Kinder werden nach Hause geholt. A Ditty Full of Old Muck (text from 1st act of Happy Days by Samuel Beckett) was started as an isolated piece written in 1989 called 'A buried lady called Winnie, Sam and me' as a preparation to direct Happy Days... Beckett was still alive. When he died in December of that year Bettina, in her own words, "aborted the project and slowly over a long period of time - ten years to be exact - wrote different pieces (all dated). Each stands on its own, some kind of a linked narrative was never intended... nor publication considered at the time ..." Sam 'n me, the me is a cowpoke called Gramps, are treasure hunters and this trilogy called "The "Monastery Treasures", tells you how they get started on a series of treasure hunts that will knock your socks off. This is the first of several anthologies that will bring together treasure hunting adventures in an easy reading format, I call my Saturday Matinee books. Saturday Matinee's were popular when I was a kid. They were serial movies the local theater had every Saturday that gave you an episode of an ongoing adventure that had you excited about going back the next Saturday to see the next episode. They were mostly westerns and that's where I developed my passion for cowboy lingo. Gramps is the narrator of these stories and he's a cowboy through and through. Each book in this trilogy is a bit longer than a typical short story, and a lot shorter than the typical book. They are meant to be quick easy reads that will give you a couple of hours of entertainment, and then you can set the trilogy aside, and come back to it when you get another couple of free hours. That's what creates what I call the Saturday Matinee style of reading. The Monastery Treasures are about treasures hidden by three different monasteries, with each hidden treasure being greater than the last. The only way to find them is for Sam to solve the complex code the monks used to describe where the treasures were hidden. That's only part of the problem the treasure hunters have. Sam's Uncle Timothy is determined to get the treasures when their hiding place is found, and will kill anyone who gets in his way. He wants it all for himself. I hope you have as much fun reading Gramps tell the stories in your imagination, as I did in creating them. Your imagination is your greatest treasure. I will be honored to have you add my stories to it.

A Wrench in the Wings is a compilation of columns written for Air Maintenance Update magazine. Spending all my adult life either fixing aircraft or teaching others to carry on in that profession has been an enlightening journey. Based on stories that I related to my aircraft maintenance students, the benefits were three-fold. First, it tended to keep their attention with real insight into daily life as an aircraft mechanic. Second, it gave me a chance to show the more human side of myself while hopefully injecting some humor into the classroom. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the stories often ended with lessons learned. These lessons were about the realities and responsibilities of our chosen profession, but also about life in general. Many topics are touched upon, from rapid decompression to rock stars and everything in between. I hope that you find them interesting, whether you are an aviation enthusiast or perhaps someone considering a career as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Like most careers, it has its ups and downs. Here is hoping that you enjoy the ride.
