If you're a Kangaroo through and through, Just do what Kangaroos do. Young Sue really doesn't like being a kangaroo, so she goes off to find something better. First she tries climbing the trees like a koala, but that doesn't work. Then she wades into the sea like a platypus, but that's no good either. Finally, Sue joins up with some bouncy, jouncy wallabies...and discovers that being a kangaroo isn't so bad, after all. Using a jaunty waltz rhythm, actor, comedian, and best-selling author John Lithgow reassures children that they can be happy with who they are. For listening or singing along, a CD of a John Lithgow performance of Marsupial Sue and an instrumental version is included with this book, as is the score of the song.

"I'm too fast, you're too slow. Pan, pan, patty-cake pan, I can get away from you, I can " The much-loved story of the Runaway Pancake who pops out of the oven and is sure he can escape all who want to eat him is given a new spin when Marsupial Sue and her friends put on a play version for their neighborhood. This has all of the wit and whimsy of Marsupial Sue and again features lively illustrations by Jack E. Davis. From the friends' preparations behind the scenes to the actors' final bows, readers will be inspired by the production.
In 1990, the skeleton of a battle-scarred Tyrannosaurus rex matriarch was found, virtually complete, in what many call the most spectacular dinosaur fossil discovery to date. Not just another dinosaur book, Tyrannosaurus Sue is a fascinating introduction to the centuries-old history of commercial fossil hunting, a legal thriller and a provocative look at academic versus commercial science and the chase for the money that fuels both. - Steve Fiffer, an attorney who has followed the story for the past seven years, has captured the whole range of characters and issues embroiled in the fight for Sue. Fiffer communicates both the excitement over Sue's discovery and the motivations, manoeuvrings, and absurdities of the various forces attempting to control her destiny.
There are hundreds of Sue Ryder charity shops throughout the UK, but few shoppers sorting through racks of jackets or piles of paperbacks know much about their founder. Sue Ryder was a determined, philanthropic and driven woman who set about creating homes for those in desperate need of care. The suffering of most of her patients was the result of trauma experienced in WW2, or from serious disability or illness. Sue Ryder was born into a very privileged family. When she was only sixteen years old, she chose to leave her expensive private school and throw herself into the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry. This was the beginning of her vocational career and led to an affection for the people of Poland, who she cared for during Special Operations Executive work. In the post-WW2 chaos she supported displaced people in a range of European countries. She worked directly in the field, sourcing and supplying food, medicine and clothing for those who were otherwise entirely abandoned. She constantly needed money for her work but her shops and radio appeals raised some, and local authorities made financial contributions. Eventually she opened homes and hospices in places as diverse as Malawi, Albania and Wales. Sue Ryder made a huge and positive difference to the lives of thousands, despite - or perhaps because of - having a character which could, at times, be as obsessive and downright difficult as it could be creative and inspiring. Over the years she was awarded various civic, military and academic honours, including being made a life peer in 1979. Sue Ryder was brought up to help others and she committed her life to doing so. This book is written so that Sue Ryder's name, work and life are known about and not forgotten.
