This comprehensive manual provides a user-oriented overview of U.S. Census data and demographic methods for redistricting applications. It addresses current issues and concerns accompanying the creation, adjustment, and evaluation of election districts and plans that incorporate them using 2020 Federal Census data. It meets the needs of local governments, citizen redistricting commissions, parties to litigation, and practitioners using Census data for political redistricting. The book provides many examples of technical problems that analysts will encounter when applying these data, supplemented by extensive case studies illustrating these technical issues and how they can be addressed. The book is a source to consult for insight, background, and concrete examples of specific issues and concerns and how to address them. As such this comprehensive reference manual is a "must have" for applied demographers, data scientists, statisticians, citizen redistricting commissions, parties to litigation, practitioners, and any analyst or organization engaged in political redistricting using US decennial census data.Prepublication quotes:“As a litigator who advises local governments on redistricting matters, this book is an essential resource.” John A. Safarli, Partner, Floyd, Pflueger & Ringer, P.S., Seattle, WA “A valuable primer for those who will participate in redistricting. Provides those new to the highly-charged work of drawing districts an understanding of what is at stake, what options exist and the pitfalls to avoid.” Professor Charles S. Bullock, III, University of Georgia (author of Redistricting: The Most Political Activity in America) “A meticulously researched, well-structured and informative foray into the nuts and bolts of the redistricting process. . .Will aid the bench and bar, public officials, and those elected and appointed citizens who are entrusted with the heavy responsibilities of redistricting from start to finish.Lives up to its name as a pragmatic guide for those involved in the redistricting process, be they demographic experts, statistical analysts, election law attorneys, litigants, or citizens involved in redistricting commissions. A resource for teaching election law and for defending governmental entities ensnared in the redistricting process.A must for anyone engaged in political redistricting based on the 2020 U.S. Census data.” Benjamin E. Griffith, Adjunct Professor of Election Law, University of Mississippi, Robert C. Khayat School of Law, and Principal in Griffith Law Firm, Oxford, Mississippi. (Editor and Author of America Votes! Challenges to Modern Election Law and Voting Rights, ABA Section of State & Local Government Law, 4th Ed.,December 2019)

The #MeToo Movement has been astounding. In an increasingly misogynistic society that has escalated since the 2016 elections, the plethora of women who have felt compelled to share their stories has been profound. Consequently, I was inspired to research, write and chronicle news accounts of the historic Women's March and the U.S.A. Gymnastics Team's sexual assault travesty leading to the subsequent downfall of team doctor Larry Nassar. All of this emboldened me to expose my own Pandora's box. Since 2017, more than 250 high-profile celebrities, CEO's, politicians, and others have been the subject of sexual harassment, assault, or other misconduct allegations against women. This narrative has impacted the international community as well. But it was Oprah Winfrey who brought it home upon accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2018 Golden Globes. She expressed "gratitude to all women who have endured years of abuse and assault because they...had children to feed...bills to pay...dreams to pursue..." Oprah's four abstruse words motivated me to forge ahead and write this book. All she simply said was "THEIR TIME IS UP" ... and it is

This guidebook is designed to be the middle-level teacher’s friend in addressing a wide variety of questions regarding the use of educational and instructional technologies. It can serve as a companion and guide through the myriad challenges and opportunities related to the effective use of technology in one’s classroom and school.A sample of middle level U.S. teachers provided us with detailed answers about their experiences with using technology in their teaching. Specifically, they shared their challenges, barriers, ideas, and suggestions for working successfully with administrators, technology specialists, students, fellow teachers, and parents when teaching with technology. We have organized the teachers’ experiences and recommendations according to each stakeholder.Rather than recommending or reviewing specific educational technology companies, applications, or tools, we provide a large number of strategies that are “built to last” and should be applicable regardless of the specific tool under consideration. We assume that it doesn’t ultimately matter what the tool or technology is that you’re using—it’s how and why you’re using it for teaching and learning that will determine whether it is successful or not. The “how” and “why” aspects encompass the built-to- last strategies included in this guidebook.

Psychology and Spiritual Formation in Dialogue – Moral and Spiritual Change in Christian Perspective
Can the phenomena of the human mind be separated from the practices of spiritual formation—of growing to have the mind of Christ? Research into the nature of moral and spiritual change has revived in recent years in the worlds of psychology on one hand and theology and philosophy on the other. But psychology and spiritual formation draw upon distinct bodies of research and theory grounded in different methodologies, resulting in conversation that has suffered from a lack of interdisciplinary cross-pollination. Rooted in a year-long discussion held by Biola University's Center for Christian Thought (CCT), this volume bridges the gaps caused by professional specialization among psychology, theology, and philosophy. Each essay was forged out of an integrative discussion among theologians, psychologists, philosophers, New Testament scholars, educators, and pastors around the CCT seminar table. Topics that emerged included relational and developmental spirituality, moral virtue and judgment, and suffering and trauma. Psychology and Spiritual Formation in Dialogue speaks across disciplinary divides, fostering fruitful conversation for fresh insights into the nature and dynamics of personal spiritual change. Contributors include Justin L. Barrett, School of Psychology, Fuller Theological SeminaryEarl D. Bland, Rosemead School of Psychology, Biola UniversityEllen T. Charry, Princeton SeminaryJohn H.
