Buffett's Investment Strategy: Set it and Forget it "... our favorite holding period is FOREVER." Manage the account only once a year Contribute $9 a day, $250 a month. Accumulate $55,000, $200,000, $1,000,000 over time. Use a special IRS account for Tax-FREE income. Use only low-cost high-return mutual funds. Warren Buffett's Investing Strategy is buy and hold FOREVER high earning companies. This allows compouding to work. Compounding is money earning money on its earnings when it is invested. Invest your money in businesses sharing profits with you and over time you can reach $1,000,000. A special account makes it tax-FREE. Tax-FREE is like a $300,000 bonus. When we invest in successful businesses, we can earn 10% to 12% a year. After 10 years, we can have $55,000 because the businesses paid dividends and we reinvested them. After 20 years, we could have $200,000 and after 33 years, perhaps $1,000,000. Over time, stocks are safer than bank CDs because we earn more than inflation subtracts. We have more buying power. Compounding works best when we put our money to work in successful businesses paying us dividends and stock splits. When we use a low-cost AND tax-FREE account, we avoid fees and taxes so we keep more of our money to compound. The table below gives us some idea of how fast our investment can grow if we invest it in businesses like the ones we use every day.

In the revealing interview, Mr. Buffett discusses how he missed predicting the crisis and its effect on the financial system. He also shares thoughts on some of the main players, like Jamie Dimon and Ken Lewis; the logic behind the investments he made in late 2008, and how close the system came to collapse. He also talks about what he calls "the single most important decision in evaluating a business," his thoughts on the US dollar and Moody's, and why he sold Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.

At the age of 26, Warren Buffett founded Buffett Partnership Limited, which lasted from 1956 to 1970. During this time he wrote 33 letters to his small but growing group of partners. These letters chronicle his thoughts, approaches and reflections in the period immediately prior to his Berkshire Hathaway tenure - one that saw an unprecedented record of investing success. This early period was astonishing: in 1968 he beat the Dow by more than 50%. Because Buffett wanted to ensure that his partners understood his process, he wrote letters. In them, he sets out what he termed "ground rules" for investing that remain startlingly relevant today for every type of investor - from beginners to sophisticated pros. Warren Buffett's Ground Rules brings together, for the first time, and with Buffett's blessing, the key investment principles and teachings the letters reveal. Here you will find the basis for Buffett's contrarian diversification strategy, his almost religious celebration of compounding interest and his tactics for bettering market results by at least 10% annually. Quoting extensively and directly from Buffett, equity research expert Jeremy Miller introduces us to the timeless advice the letters contain, demonstrating a set of highly effective investment strategies that continue to resonate today.

Drag Racing's Warren The Professor Johnson
Go behind the scenes for a look at Warren Johnson's path to becoming The Professor of Pro Stock. This new book illuminates the life and career of one of the most prolific engine builders and racers ever to compete in the ultra-competitive Pro Stock category, drag racing's most technologically advanced class.Warren Johnson navigated the world of factory hot rods for more than 45 years, devoting himself to full-time racing in 1975 and relentlessly pursuing horsepower and victory from the driver's seat and the engine room. Johnson's devotion to research and development opened the door to a long-standing relationship with Oldsmobile and GM Performance, beginning with the birth of the Drag Racing Competition Engine (DRCE) that is still used by every competitive team in the class. He excelled when it came to outthinking the competition and was outspoken on matters that he deemed vital. Johnson embraced thinking outside the box and pushed boundaries to affect change in terms of both safety and the advancement of the class, but he also knew when it was appropriate and necessary to put on a good show for the fans.Through his tireless efforts and with the support of a small crew that included his wife, Arlene, and son, Kurt, Johnson claimed two IHRA championships and six NHRA world titles, along with an astounding 97 national event wins that placed him in the position of being the most-winning driver of all time in the category. This book, complete with photos from the family archive and striking professional images of Johnson's many race cars, dives into it all, beginning with W.J.'s childhood and early days of match racing when he developed the stern frugality and fierce resourcefulness that was the foundation of a tremendously successful, though sometimes controversial, career.

In 1890, on Indian reservations across the West, followers of a new religion danced in circles until they collapsed into trances. In an attempt to suppress this new faith, the US Army killed over two hundred Lakota Sioux at Wounded Knee Creek. Louis Warren's God's Red Son offers a startling new view of the religion known as the Ghost Dance, from its origins in the visions of a Northern Paiute named Wovoka to the tragedy in South Dakota. To this day, the Ghost Dance remains widely mischaracterized as a primitive and failed effort by Indian militants to resist American conquest and return to traditional ways. In fact, followers of the Ghost Dance sought to thrive in modern America by working for wages, farming the land, and educating their children, tenets that helped the religion endure for decades after Wounded Knee. God's Red Son powerfully reveals how Ghost Dance teachings helped Indians retain their identity and reshape the modern world.
