Mindfulness-Based Relational Supervision explores a relational and mindfulness-based approach to adult learning and development that is mutually transformational. The initial focus of the book is a case study that shows the evolution of a dialogical supervision relationship that was transformational for both parties. The authors present their reflections and analysis of key transformational moments that brought insights which significantly enhanced their personal and professional development. The authors adopt an interdisciplinary approach, discussing relational neurobiology and relational mindfulness practice together with ideas from child and adult development, attachment theory, intersubjectivity, somatic experiencing, and adult learning theories. The case study narrative charts the development of the authors’ supervision relationship, following which they share a meta-perspective on their learning journey. Finally, they discuss the implications of the study for the education and training of relational practitioners in supervision, coaching, and related fields. The book will appeal to students, practitioners and supervisors in the helping professions, in particular counselling, psychotherapy, and coaching.

Painting, Politics and the Struggle for the École de Paris, 1944–1964
Painting, Politics and the Struggle for the École de Paris, 1944-1964 is the first book dedicated to the postwar or 'nouvelle' École de Paris. It challenges the customary relegation of the École de Paris to the footnotes, not by arguing for some hitherto 'hidden' merit for the art and ideas associated with this school, but by establishing how and why the École de Paris was a highly significant vehicle for artistic and political debate. The book presents a sustained historical study of how this 'school' was constituted by the paintings of a diverse group of artists, by the combative field of art criticism, and by the curatorial policies of galleries and state exhibitions. By thoroughly mining the extensive resources of the newspaper and art journal press, gallery and government archives, artists' writings and interviews with surviving artists and art critics, the book traces the artists, exhibitions, and art critical debates that made the École de Paris a zone of aesthetic and political conflict. Through setting the École de Paris into its artistic, social, and political context, Natalie Adamson demonstrates how it functioned as the defining force in French postwar art in its defence of the tradition of easel painting, as well as an international point of reference for the expansion of modernism. In doing so, she presents a wholly new perspective on the vexed relationships between painting, politics, and national identity in France during the two decades following World War II.

This book, first published in 1988, does not concern the theory of poetry so much as the poetry of theory: a poetry that theorizes, that has a "view" on things, that thinks. What or what things does poetry think about, and what do we mean by thinking? The author attempts to answer these questions by examining the work of three poets – Wallace Stevens, César Vallejo, and René Char – and reflects upon the poetry itself. This title will be of interest to students of literature and literary theory.

As its title suggests this is not just a list of names and dates but a serious research into the people behind the names on the various WW2 memorials in Bridlington including all the old boys of Bridlington School who died in WW2. The book begins with a detailed look at where the memorials are, when they were made and the names that appear on them. This is followed by the roll of honour itself, an alphabetical listing which gives a full page to each person named on the memorials. The Authors have used 'typical' family history resources in order to give as much biographical detail as possible, who they were, their parents, husbands / wives and children, where and how they died and what they did before enlistment. Some died in well-known land battles, some went down with their ships, while others were in aircraft that failed to return home. Not all were in the armed forces and these met their deaths through bombing raids and accidents of war. This is their story.
