Steht dieser Begriff doch in einer widerspr chlichen Tradition. Man brauche sich nur den Missbrauch dieses Begriffs im Laufe der Geschichte zu vergegenw rtigen, beispielsweise im Nationalsozialismus in Deutschland. Generell ist es sehr schwierig, das Konzept " Nation" zu definieren. Was ist eine Nation? W rde man diese Frage in einer Stra enumfrage auf der Frankfurter Zeil stellen, bek me man mindestens 50 verschiedene Antworten. Einige "rechtsradikale" Ansichten w ren sicherlich dabei, au erdem viele unterschiedliche Antworten, die einerseits den politischen Nationalstaat thematisieren w rden und vielleicht Nation und Staat gleichsetzen w rden. Andere w rden versuchen das Wesen der deutschen Nation in kultureller oder kulturgeschichtlicher Hinsicht zu definieren. Die Problematik des Begriffs der Nation wird im folgenden 2. Kapitel dieser Arbeit behandelt. Benedict Anderson war der erste Wissenschaftler, der den Nationalstaat als Konstrukt in Frage stellte. Aus diesem Grunde habe ich das Eingangszitat von Benedict Anderson als Motto f r diese Arbeit gew hlt, um direkt auf die Besonderheit von seiner Definition der "vorgestellten Nation" zu zeigen. Es ist eine anthropologische, sehr kreative, fast anarchistische und konstruktivistische Denkweise der modernen Nation. Das Ziel der Nation bei Anderson ist, die nationale Identit t zu beschreiben, die niemals homogen sein kann, sondern immer ethnisch heterogen ist...

Information on his tribe, the Menka, and psychiatric comments provide the necessary background for the notes. The course of Mr. Tanka's illness, followed for twelve years, illustrates results of the International Pilot Study on Schizophrenia (IPSS) of the WHO that schizophrenia in patients from traditional cultures often has a favourable prognosis.

Samtidig er han også den mest markante repræsentant for den tidlige oplysningstænkning.I denne bog præsenteres læseren for hovedlinjerne i hans forfatterskab. Given the task of reviving monasticism and imposing uniformity throughout the Carolingian Empire, Witiza, a Visigothic lord became monk with the name Benedict, and read and compared all the existing monastic rules he could. Despite his own preference for rigorous austerity, he settled on the Rule of Saint Benedict, composed for beginners or the sick as the guide most suited to his countrymen. Its imposition, with accompanying legislation issued at the reforming synods of Aachen early in the ninth century, made the Rule of Benedict as interpreted by the second Benedict the monastic norm in the west and the sole monastic rule for nearly three centuries. The late Allen Cabanas was University Professor of History at the University of Mississippi.
