Information technology has assumed a vital part in marketing research. The business condition of today is complex to the point that no normal chief would need to settle on essential choice without securing enough data. Notwithstanding, it must be noticed that not all snippets of data are pertinent. In marketing research, data gathering must be deliberate and objective keeping in mind the end goal to give an extensive and pertinence data to the analyst. This will help basic leadership.

Transport Phenomena in Dispersed Media addresses the main problems associated with the transfer of heat, mass and momentum. The authors focus on the analytical solutions of the mass and heat transfer equations; the theoretical problems of coalescence, coagulation, aggregation and fragmentation of dispersed particles; the rheology of structured aggregate and kinetically stable disperse systems; the precipitation of particles in a turbulent flow; the evolution of the distribution function; the stochastic counterpart of the mass transfer equations; the dissipation of energy in disperse systems; and many other problems that distinguish this book from existing publications.Key Selling Features Covers all technological processes taking place in the oil and gas complex, as well as in the petrochemical industry Presents new original solutions for calculating design as well as for the development and implementation of processes of chemical technology Organized to first provide an extensive review of each chapter topic, solve specific problems, and then review the solutions with the reader Contains complex mathematical expressions for practical calculations Compares results obtained on the basis of mathematical models with experimental data

‘Enabling Social Europe’ examines how the paradigm of the ‘enabling welfare state’ might offer a new perspective for European social policy in the decades to come. The ‘enabling’ concept is perceived as going beyond that of mere ‘activation’, thus also embracing policies aimed at increasing personal autonomy, individual responsibility and social inclusion by endowing individuals with the resources and capabilities needed to manage and balance their life courses in a better way. The study is distinguished by a unique collaboration of social and economic policy experts coming from a wide range of disciplines: economics, law, sociology, political science, and philosophy. The authors seek to shed new light on whether European social policy ought to play a role in the future and, if so, what sort of role that could be. They convincingly argue that despite an implicit normative consensus on the ‘European social model’, there is still room for a multifaceted world in which welfare regimes can maintain their own path-dependent ways of achieving a fair and just society with a high level of welfare for all. The empirical part of the book contains an appraisal of policies and reforms with a view to the ‘enabling welfare state’ approach in four important policy areas: health care, old-age security, family policy, and poverty prevention. Within each sector, the authors compare the policies and practices of two countries attributable to different regime types: Germany and the United Kingdom, Poland and Germany, Finland and Estonia, and Belgium and Denmark. This book is highly recommendable not only for scholars and policymakers active in this field, but also for students of welfare and labour economics, sociology, social policy, political science and law.

A study on Torsional Behavior of RC beams with ferrocement "U" wraps

A study on Torsional Behavior of RC beams with ferrocement "U" wraps

Concrete, the highest consumed material in construction field having high compressive strength with low tensile strength plays a high risk to encounter the torsional loads. Wrapping on three sides is a most common technique. So far no work has been reported regarding the improvement/beneficial aspects of "U" wrapping using ferrocement under torsional loads. A preliminary experimental investigation was taken up to study whether other types of wraps are effective in resisting the torsion or not. Development of analytical model, Validation of analytical model and Comparison of torsional capacity of RC beams with "U" wraps, with full wraps and without wrapping. The work is divided into four phases such as Development of Analytical Model, Experimental work on Normal strength beams, Experimental works on High strength Beams and Validation of Analytical model. The torque twist response of a ferrocement "U" wrap reinforced beam is more influenced by the state of torsion than the amount of mesh reinforcement of ferrocement. Transversely over reinforced concrete beams showed overall increase in torque, twist and toughness over longitudinally over reinforced beams with "U" wrap.

The inferred positions of global paleoshorelines through the 240 million years of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic are presented within this atlas. Thirty-one maps, generally corresponding to stratigraphic stages, provide a snapshot of the continents and their shorelines at approximately 8 million year intervals. The maps provide a representation of the gross changes in the distribution of land and sea throughout the Mesozoic and Cenozoic plotted on Mollweide projections of paleocontinental reconstruction. They do not distinguish between well and poorly defined shorelines, but the information sources are set out in a bibliography numbering more than 2000 primary paleographic references. This is a global compilation that presents the first attempt at delineating global shorelines at stage level, and which represents many years of work sponsored by British Petroleum International (BPI), and work by BPI themselves between 1981 and 1987.

The definitive book on what is known about the Late Pleistocene and Early Holocene archaeological record in the Southeast The 1996 benchmark volume The Paleoindian and Early Archaic Southeast, edited by David G. Anderson and Kenneth E. Sassaman, was the first study to summarize what was known of the peoples who lived in the Southeast when ice sheets covered the northern part of the continent and mammals such as mammoths, saber-toothed cats, and ground sloths roamed the landscape. The American Southeast at the End of the Ice Age provides an updated, definitive synthesis of current archaeological research gleaned from an array of experts in the region. It is organized in three parts: state records, the regional perspective, and reflections and future directions. Chapters survey a diversity of topics including the distribution of the earliest archaeological sites in the region, chipped-stone tool technology, the expanding role of submerged archaeology, hunter-gatherer lifeways, past climate changes and the extinction of megafauna on the transitional landscape, and evidence of demographic changes at the end of the Ice Age. Discussion of the ethical responsibilities regarding the use of private collections and the relationship of archaeologists and the avocational community, insight from outside the Southeast, and considerations for future research round out the volume.

Leading Dynamic Schools: How to Create and Implement Ethical Policies is a policy book for people who work in and with schools: teachers, building level leaders, central office administrators, board members, and parent boards. In accessible language, the authors deconstruct the conceptions and understandings of educational policy. This volume serves as a companion volume to Principals of Dynamic Schools (Rallis and Goldring, Corwin Press, 2000) and Dynamic Teachers (Rallis and Rossman, Corwin Press, 1995), books that introduced the construct of dynamic schools. This book also draws on work from Becoming a Reflective Educator (Reagan, Case and Brubacher, Corwin Press, 2000). Policy is an often overused and more often misunderstood concept. The authors bring to life the making and enacting of educational policy in schools, and help readers develop a more sophisticated and complex understanding of the purposes, evaluation, creation, and implementation of school policies at all levels. As in the earlier books, the authors use vignettes and cases, as well as research and relevant theories, to illustrate important concepts. The theme of power within policy permeates the text. The authors recognize that policy tends to represent dominant voices, and that power can be appropriate and legitimate. Dynamic schools are places where multiple voices contribute to the policy-making and implementing process.

This book offers a unique reference-guide to magnetically controlled shunt reactors. In particular, it focuses on simulating and estimating the efficiency of the application of controlled shunt reactors with different operating principles and design. It offers extensive details on computer simulation and related automatic control systems, and reports on practical case studies. This book, which is based on practical investigations performed by the authors at the Department of Electrical Systems and Networks of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, offers the first comprehensive guide to the operation and design of magnetically controlled shunt reactors. It addresses both researchers and engineers in the field of power systems.
