When providing telehealth services, physical distance can create ethical and safety challenges. Such challenges are manageable when following the best practices outlined in this book, which illustrates how to conduct mental health services via videoconferencing and other technologies. As telecommunication technologies and health apps become more ubiquitous and affordable, they expand opportunities for mental health professionals to provide quality care. However, physical distance as well as technology itself can create challenges to safe and ethical practice. Such challenges are manageable when following the best practices outlined in this book. Providers can use videoconference and other technologies for assessment, treatment delivery, psychoeducation, supervision, and consultation. This practical guide covers each facet of telemental health care in turn, with emphasis on: Conducting telepractice within legal, regulatory, and ethical boundaries Safeguarding clients amp rsquo privacy and ensuring the security of their data Establishing a welcoming, safe environment and therapeutic rapport from a distance

Now in its second edition, A Practitioner's Guide to Telemental Health is significantly updated with coverage of current best practices, evidence-based recommendations, and attention to nuanced refinements of telemental health in the face of recent accelerated growth in the field, due in part to the Covid- 9 pandemic. Telemental health, or TMH, has become integral to nearly all aspects of behavioral health service, including research and delivery of treatment, assessment, psychoeducation, training, supervision, and consultation. This has removed significant barriers to care access for many underserved groups however, it also means that the field overall must build its capacity to provide TMH. This book is for seasoned clinicians as well as new providers preparing to enter the mental and behavioral health care professions. Its chapters provide a guide for increasing TMH competencies, which require keeping up-to-date with the scientific evidence base and ongoing collegial discussion with informed leaders in the clinical, ethical, and legal realms. Readers will benefit from the research presented, as well as the description of practical steps they can take to ensure they are providing rewarding, safe, and quality TMH care for their patients.

M. (World Bank, 2015).

In order to contribute to the development of knowledge in the Neotropical Amazon, we invite you to reflect on the impacts caused by anthropic activity on the forest and how nature is responsible for the resilience of the natural resources extracted, worldwide emits 33, 516,380 metric tons (Tn. M.) of Carbon Dioxide (CO2), per year, the main contributor is China (8, 256, 969 Tn. M.), followed by the United States (5, 408, 869 Tn. M.), in Latin America and the Caribbean CO2 emissions are 18, 177, 514 Tn. M.), being the main emitter Brazil (419, 754 Tn. M.) and in contrast in Peru its CO2 emissions are 57,858 Tn. M. (World Bank, 2015). The purpose of the research work is oriented to determine the amount of carbon in the live aerial biomass, dead wood, litter and soil organic matter, in the Permanent Monitoring Plot (PPM), making use of different mathematical applications and allometric equations developed especially for tropical forests, which allow us to quantify the carbon stored in the study area.

The widespread adoption of smartphones, ridesharing and carsharing have disrupted the transport sector. In cities around the world, new mobility services are both welcomed and challenged by regulators and incumbent operators. Mobility as a Service (MaaS), an ecosystem designed to deliver collaborative and connected mobility services in a society increasingly embracing a sharing culture, is at the center of this disruption. Understanding Mobility as a Service (MaaS): Past, Present and Future examines such topics as: How likely MaaS will be implemented in one digital platform app Whether MaaS will look the same in all countries The role multi-modal contract brokers play Mobility regulations and pricing models MaaS trials, their impacts and consequences Written by the leading thinkers in the field for researchers, practitioners, and policy makers, Understanding Mobility as a Service (MaaS): Past, Present and Future serves as a single source on all the current and evolving developments, debates, and challenges.

Currently, the research community lacks the capacity to provide accurate, up-to-date information about conditions and trends in rural areas. Bringing together some of the best known rural development researchers, this volume begins to build an information base that can serve as a foundation for rural development policy. It deals with four components of development—education, entrepreneurship, physical infrastructure, and social infrastructure. The opening chapters address two aspects of each component—the use of the component to achieve rural development and measuring the impact of its use. The volume then applies specific analytic methods of measuring impact to each component. The opening chapters address two aspects of each component—the concept of using that component to achieve rural development and the concept of measuring its impact. The volume then examines analytic methods of measuring impact. Following an overview of analytic methods, chapters apply a different analytic technique to each of the components. The techniques considered include econometric models, computable general equilibrium models, input-output analysis, and the case-study method.

This volume draws attention to the seminal studies and important advances that have shaped systematic and biogeographic thinking and continue to influence its direction today. It traces concepts in homology and classification from the 19th century to the present through the provision of a unique anthology of scientific writings from Goethe, Agassiz, Geoffroy St. Hilaire, Owen, Naef, Zangerl and Nelson, among others. In addition, current attitudes and practices in comparative biology are interrogated, particularly in relation to evolutionary studies leading to a re-statement of the principal aims of the discipline. In order to alert prospective students to pitfalls common in systematics and biogeography, the book highlights three principal messages: biological classifications and their explanatory mechanisms are separate notions; most, if not all, homology concepts pre-date the works of Darwin; and that the foundation of all comparative biology is the concept of relationship - neither 'similarity' nor 'genealogical hypotheses of descent' are sufficient.

Since the early 1980s, universities in the United States have greatly expanded their patenting and licensing activities. The Congressional Joint Economic Committee, among other authorities, have argued that this surge contributed to the economic boom of the 1990s. And, many observers have attributed this trend to the Bayh-Dole Act of 1980. Using quantitative analysis and detailed case studies, this book tests that conventional wisdom and assesses the effects of the Act, examining the diverse channels through which commercialization has occurred over the 20th century and since the passage of the Act.
