In this first editorial monograph, Giuseppe Mastromatteo (1970) collects the results of artistic research conducted through fifteen years of activity. His shots start from people - faces, bodies - and then technology is used to create visual effects that, by altering the features of the portrayed subjects, lead to an unexpected world, offering complex food for thought. As in the Eyedentikit series, where the photographer's gaze overlaps with that of his models, eliminating the distance between the author and his subject in a courageous act of fusion that raises questions about the concept of identity. With Indepensense, then, we witness a border crossing between senses and body surfaces, in a mixture of human beings with a surreal flavour that inspires a meditation on the understanding and acceptance of diversity. Text in English and Italian.

Giuseppe Terragni, an influential proponent of modernism in Italian architecture and design in the 1920s and 1930s, translated the visual vocabulary of Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe into what became known as the Rationalist School of Architecture. This monograph covers his later years (he died in 1943), with a focus on the war and his devastating experience as a soldier. It includes some notable projects from the 1930s like the Casa del Fascio in Como, and the designs for an unrealised final project for a cathedral that he did in the days before his death. The book is illustrated with historical photographs and includes letters Terragni wrote from the front.
The Catalogue Raisonné of the work of Giuseppe Capogrossi (Rome 1900-1972) presents for the first time all the painter’s works up to 1949, in other words up to the birth of the sign with the works shown at the Galleria del Secolo in Rome in January 1950. Beginning from his earliest paintings, executed in around 1920, the Catalogue records in detail the artist’s path towards the development of an increasingly abstract language and then the invention of his famous “signs”. The volume is completed by critical essays, a detailed biographical timeline and an exhaustive bibliography which make the Catalogue an essential instrument of study for scholars, experts and art lovers.

Time is a fundamental dimension of the work of Giuseppe Gabellone, and it resonates in all the works shown at the GAMeC in Bergamo. In his photographs and sculptures - the two main media around which Gabellone has developed his language stretching the conventions and possibilities of both - time takes on forms that are not easy to grasp, in spite of the clarity that sets his image apart. It is a time that is simultaneously specific and extraneous; an absolute and present time, but one that goes beyond the contemporary; a time anchored in experience, yet also transcending it.
