"The Struggle For Kathy's Soul" is the story of two young social workers who meet in California in the 1970's. There is an immediate attraction between them, but Kathy's Christian background clashes with Susan's independence. Kathy wants marriage and a family. Susan wants a career. They both want a close, intimate partner. They find a common passion for the children they guide through foster care, but their relationship is more complicated. When their feelings for each other surface, they must deal with the conflicts, compromises, and choices stemming from their different backgrounds and desires. It becomes a struggle for Kathy to reconcile her faith and personal goals with the lifestyle she'd share with Susan.

Kathy Charmaz (1939–2020) was the developer of Constructivist Grounded Theory (CGT), a key method in qualitative research internationally and across many disciplines and professions. She was Professor Emerita of Sociology at Sonoma State University, California, and former Director of its Faculty Writing Program. Her book, Constructing Grounded Theory, is the definitive guide to developing a constructivist perspective, and is the seminal title for anyone serious about doing CGT research. This Festschrift to honour Kathy Charmaz’s scholarship features fourteen chapters plus an editors’ introduction, exploring CGT extensively, examining topics including “Indigenization” of the method, its approaches to decolonizing research, uses of CGT in social justice research, and the legacies of Kathy Charmaz’s remarkable mentorship. Edited by Antony Bryant and Adele E. Clarke, both of whom co-authored and edited with Kathy, and eminent scholars of qualitative methods in their own right, this is a glowing tribute to her long and distinguished career.

""Love" Poems For Kathy: Green. Laced. Leaves." is a series of interrelated "love" poems that tell the story of troubled and obsessional love. For all poetry lovers and all those who have loved and lost, this collection will be of interest and value. Over a mere, few months, the poet Jonathan Finch wrote more than one hundred love poems for and to his femme fatale. ""Love" Poems For Kathy" is a sequence of interrelating love poems that tell the story of the poet's love and then hate for the woman who infatuated him. The poems trace the poet's early intense feelings for Katharine, but they quickly descend into a maelstrom of contradictory passions which leave the poet exhausted but creatively embroiled. The reader is free to trace the violent emotions that were born out of this love, the jealousy the poet feels for his woman's past, the negative tirades which plumb misogynistic depths, the pathetic realisation he has lost her, his plans to murder, his hallucinations, and his heartbreak. Throughout the trauma, love resurfaces weeping and is then buried once again under an avalanche of emotions that will leave the sensitive reader upset and anxious. "La belle dame sans merci" distances herself and the poet sees a man walking down a street "Where no street was, where no man was".In the 1970's and 80's, Jonathan Finch was singled out by editors and poets who published a great number of his poems in small magazines, pamphlets, and anthologies. He won prizes in British poetry competitions. When he was 33 he left the UK and has never been resident since. Reviewers have praised his previous two collections "Poems People Liked (1)" and "Poems People Liked (2)", expressing admiration for his poetic skills: "powerfully hewn poems" / "genuine, gripping, and beautiful" / "You can tell he's no amateur to poetry - every word is deliberate and meaningful".

Enrique Martínez Celaya & Käthe Kollwitz
The artist Enrique Martínez Celaya and the collector couple Gudrun and Martin Fritsch have shared the same passion for decades: enthusiasm for and preoccupation with the work of Käthe Kollwitz. While the Berlin collector couple built up the most important privately owned Kollwitz collection, the artist referred to the artist in many ways in his work. Parallels can also be found in the artistic practice of Martínez Celaya and Kollwitz. The work of both artists occupies a space between drawing and sculpture and articulates a deeply felt humanism as an expression of their respective biographies. On the occasion of the exhibition at Galerie Judin, Enrique Martínez Celaya created a group of works distilling his examination of Käthe Kollwitz, which now enters into an exciting dialogue with the works from the Fritsch Collection.
Taking a Stand: Käthe Kollwitz
Raw, unprettified and decried in conservative circles as “gutter art”: Käthe Kollwitz employed her art uncompromisingly as a political voice for the social and human misery of her time. Her focus always lay on the dignity of humankind. The volume provides a wide-ranging insight into the commitment and creative work of the artist, whose achievements are more topical than ever. The book covers the entire spectrum of Kollwitz’ creative work with the world-famous cycles of graphic works A Weavers’ Revolt and Peasants’ War, rare proofs and moving drawings and sculptures, thereby showing all facets of her masterful skills. The political dimension of Kollwitz’ art becomes tangible in a particularly impressive manner through her posters. The unbroken validity of her work is demonstrated in a juxtaposition with the interventions by the artist Mona Hatoum (b. 1952), which revolve around topics such as vulnerability, persecution and the experience of conflict.
