Sacred Mary Lou is a book of poetry based on Mary Lou William's Mass for Peace. Each of these originial poems by Poet Fabu is written to connect words to William's original compositions. Mary's Mass was published in 1971 and introduced jazz into the traditional Catholic Mass. The first 25 poems reflect Poet Fabu's poetic interpretation of Williams' music and the last eight poems are Poet Fabu's responses to the Mass.
