When these twelve sisters start to swing, it drives the Nazis insane. After seeing the Nazis' evil first hand during the Kristallnacht, which they would forever refer to as 'that night, ' the twelve die F rstin sisters learn never to trust their parents or the Nazis again. Over the next two years, the twelve of them are periodically sent to the boarding school of Linden Academy on the Germany/Switzerland border to be "educated" somewhere away from World War 2 and where their parents thought they wouldn't get into trouble. However, when Wanda die F rstin and the remaining three sisters are reunited with their elder eight sisters at Liden Academy, trouble soon follows. Thanks to a secret servant's passage hidden in their room, the elder eight sisters soon introduce Wanda and the others to the life of a swing girl in the town of Insel. It is there during the night that Wanda, and her sisters, find the freedom that they have been craving for years. But as the Nazis' influence becomes apparent, even in this small corner of Germany, Wanda decides to take a stand against them and soon inspires her sisters and the other members of the Lake Constance Swing Club to join her. Now, Wanda and her sisters, along with the other members of the Lake Constance Swing Club have to stay one step ahead of the Nazis while they attempt to feed others, spread their messages, and raise both spirits and the Nazis' tempers. All while swinging the night away, and possibly running away to Switzerland before it's too late.

The story that began in "The City of Nis" continues now. In the aftermath of the devastation caused by Reye Jasper, the Hy-mun Horror, who ripped through Nis on a vengeance-fueled rampage until she was stopped by the leader of the Tribe of Shadows, Lord Tanas, the story shifts to the surface of Prism. Dan-te, a member of the Remnant of the Tribe who escaped from Nis using the Veil of Shadows at the start of Reye's carnage, continues her journey back to Nis alongside Virgil, a Hy-mun from the surface. However, the surface and Hy-mun culture prove to be a far more difficult place from Dan-te to Know then she originally thought. Worse, forces on the surface, including a ghost from Virgil's past, appear to make their own plans against Nis and anyone else living beneath the surface. Meanwhile, back in Nis, Reye faces the ghost of her own past and what she must do in order to move forward, taking part in a ritual performed by the Remnant to put her past to rest. The Tribesman, once known as Ice, begins his own journey to the Keyblast Point to stop the Third Great Attempt. And in Lust Atrophied, Stella Sky reflects on how she became a prisoner there and what she can do now to free herself before its too late. The story continues in "Reunions, Reflections, and Reconciliations."
For over 30 years, my patient wife has been a captive audience as I relentlessly brought up my past adventures and misdeeds under the pretense and alias of "Dr. Zorro." For all those years, she pleaded with me to chronicle my stories-if not for posterity, then at least to leave a dubious legacy for our grandchildren and anyone else who may take a passing interest.
Radical Criminology 6: Insurgent Criminology in a Period of Open Social War

Radical Criminology, edited by Jeff Shantz Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Vancouver, British Columbia], is dedicated to bridging the gap between the academy and the global activist community, especially with regard to state violence, state-corporate crime, the growth of surveillance regimes, and the prison-industrial complex. More pointedly, the journal aims to be not simply a project of critique, but is also geared toward a praxis of struggle, insurgence, and practical resistance. Issue 6 (Autumn 2016) is a special issue on "Insurgent Criminology in a Period of Open Social War" edited by Jeff Shantz. The struggles of the present period are stripping the cover off of policing as military institutions for social war waged against the working class-especially the racialized and poorest sectors-in defense of statist management, capitalist ownership, and wealth accumulation. The police are increasingly revealed as agents of pacification and regulation (as they have always been) rather than of public safety or security. Yet, there is an insurgent criminology-lively, engaged, informed, vital, analytical, honest, brave-emerging not in the halls of the academy nor in the sessions of academic conferences but rather in the streets and neighborhoods of those who are targeted by the state for ongoing punishment, repression, and violence. That insurgency is bringing with it important critiques of criminal justice as well as the beginnings of compelling challenges and alternatives, moving through and beyond reformist demands. One of the most important and promising developments has been the posing and pondering of alternatives to policing and the raising of abolitionist perspectives, responses, and projects. These are the voices academic criminology must hear and must heed. And the movements they must support as active allies, even more as accomplices and public defenders.FEATURES: A Radical Grounding for Social Disorganization Theory: A Political Economic Investigation of the Causes of Poverty, Inequality and Crime in Urban Areas Michael Lynch & Lyndsay N.
