Ihre pers nliche Verbindung ging ber die Politik hinaus und berstand auch die Interessenkonflikte der Nationen, als deren Oberh upter sie gew hlt waren. Heute noch gelten sie als das "Traumduo des Konservatismus" und werden als ideal harmonisches und homogenes Paar der Politik gezeichnet. Im Kampf gegen die Sowjetunion und die wirtschaftlichen Probleme in ihren beiden L ndern kann der Mittelpunkt ihrer Gemeinsamkeiten gesehen werden.Doch welche Schwierigkeiten hatte dieses Verh ltnis zu berstehen? Kann bei n herer Betrachtung wirklich von vollkommener Harmonie und Eintracht zwischen Ronald Reagan und Margaret Thatcher die Rede sein?Diesen Fragen wird in dieser Arbeit auf den Grund gegangen. Dabei stehen Ereignisse, die unmittelbar die Beziehung zwischen den beiden Regierungsoberh uptern auf die Probe stellten, im Fokus der Betrachtung. Zur Bearbeitung der Fragestellung wird ausgew hltes Quellenmaterial und ausgew hlte Literatur herangezogen, um so ein Bild zu zeichnen, welches insbesondere die Tiefen des Verh ltnisses zwischen Ronald Reagan und Margaret Thatcher widerspiegelt. Dabei wird zun chst auf den Falklandkrieg und dessen Auswirkungen auf ihre Beziehung eingegangen, um in einem weiteren Schritt die Kontroversen zwischen diesen beiden ber die US-Invasion auf Grenada zu beleuchten. Abschlie end werden die Ergebnisse der Betrachtung in einem Res mee zusammengestellt und bewertet.

Doch die historische Forschung hat bisher noch keinen Blick auf die Beziehung der beiden Pole aus der Sicht des Pr sidenten genommen, was diese Arbeit nachholt.
