Passing Myself Down to the Grave: A Woman's Rise from Darkness
PASSING MYSELF DOWN TO THE GRAVE: A WOMAN's RISE FROM DARKNESS is a personal memoir that retells a spiritual journey through "the Hades of my existence," says Sheryl Aronson who awoke one day in 2001 with a sense of dread and anxiety that had never existed before. Slowly her soul drained away, and her life resembled THE BOOK OF JOB where Satan said to God, "Take everything away from Job and see if he still believes in you." In 2002, Sheryl Aronson received the devastating news she had breast cancer. From that moment until 2013 she trudged through 12 years of agony. Sheryl fought off internal and external demons yet mystical and miraculous experiences occurred throughout. This memoir acts as preventative medicine for women who have entered darkness, no matter what the reason then sought a helping hand. It also shows that one can be reborn again and succeed in life no matter how old. Another treat from PASSING MYSELF DOWN TO THE GRAVE is the screenplay that exists within the story. Sheryl wrote a short film called PASSING in October 2013. Ironically, the main character Cleo, a 40-year-old mother whose life was destroyed by cancer and chemo, seemed to have morphed into (PASSING) the screenplay's heroine. Cleo, Rory and Levy, (two young men) meet as strangers randomly in a forest; all with the same mission . . . to kill themselves. Although each person seeks death, all the characters discourage one another from following through with their suicides. PASSING parallels Sheryl Aronson's own experiences.Like THE BOOK OF JOB, everything was taken away from Sheryl: her physical and mental health, her material and emotional security . . . However, God gave her everything back. Want to find out how?
OMG...You're Still Single, So Where the Hell Is Your Lemonade?
According to data from U.S. census surveys in 2016, single women are one of the fastest growing demographic groups in the country. Sheryl L. Bradford, the author of OMG...You're Still Single, So Where the Hell Is Your Lemonade? invites adult single women of all ages to share in an intimate conversation about this oft times unsolicited fate. The conversation or "kickback" session is divided into two parts and takes the single woman along the life journey of the author, a fifty-something-year-old who battles against the stereotypes of being single. At one point, she concludes, "You see after all is said and done...the ultimate goal is to come out on the other end whole...not bitter...potent...not some old maid...vibrant...fully alive " In part one, the author takes a realistic look at the pitfalls of being single but not before, she has a little fun examining the life of her counterpart, "Mrs. Smith." Through her examination, she uncovers the "unspoken ills" of married life, those that are often overlooked by single women who are oblivious in their race to the altar. The topics unveiled range from the sleepless nights endured by married women to the disturbing number of women who are abused and even killed by their spouses and significant others, a topic that is not treated lightly by the author. Then she takes a ride down memory lane (sometimes painful). She details life for the 20-something, the 30-something, and the 40-something and over single woman utilizing actual experiences and anecdotes that will have the reader laughing, crying and begging to get to part two which provides remedies for all that ails single life. Part two of the book explains the discontent that is experienced by single women and it provides practical life tools to overcome it. In this section, the author refuses to allow the single woman to sulk or be a crybaby about her status. She almost "scares her straight" into believing that there is quality life available to her even in a world that glorifies and promotes marriage. In cult-like fashion, she initiates the single woman into a new fraternity with a pledge that promises to vanish the propaganda that gives premier status to married women.

Pets hold a special place in our hearts. They are our companions, our best friends, our children, even our therapists at times. This collection of stories is a tribute to the animals that have blessed us with their love. About Hearts Alive Village: Hearts Alive Village Las Vegas (HAVLV) is a 501 c]3 organization whose mission is to secure loving and stable homes for dogs and cats at risk of being lost in the shelter system. The organization began because of a journal entry from Christy Stevens' 10 year old daughter about her "One Wish". Kendall Stevens wanted to start an animal rescue called Hearts Alive Village, where she would save everything from dogs and cats, to pigs and goats. Two years later, they are short a few pigs, but the rescue has saved more than 110 animals, and fed and cared for 100s more through a variety of owner support programs. Hearts Alive aims to keep pets in their original homes whenever possible. Programs like Kendall's Kupboard (a pet food pantry), which feeds more than 200 dogs and cats in low income families each month, and Solutions over Surrenders gives pet owners access to resources like training, financial assistance, and more, allow families to stay together, even during the difficult times. This 100% volunteer rescue also provides Humane Education to youth groups throughout the valley, works with Veterans to place amazing pets with loving individuals, and provides transitional housing for a domestic abuse survivor. They live by the slogan "It takes a village", and work to bring the community together to improve the lives for all animals. In June of 2015, they opened their first Adoption Center and Pet Supply Store, giving animals a place to meet potential adopters, and creating a system to become self sustaining. Cat adoptions have tripled since the adoption center opened, and all of the animals are enjoying love and cuddles from volunteers, and strutting their stuff for potential adopters. The adoption center serves as a community hub to celebrate our animals, educate the public, and inspire children to make a difference, just like Kendall has. If you would like to learn more about Hearts Alive Village, please visit their website at www.havlv.com.
