A investiga o estima que at 40% da produ o agr cola se perde nas fases de p s-colheita. O presente trabalho analisa a influ ncia de embalagens de papel o ondulado e EPS na prote o de mangas contra os efeitos da vibra o do transporte rodovi rio. Realizaram-se ensaios de compress o nas embalagens bem como em seus materiais onde foi verificado que a embalagem de papel o tem maior resist ncia do que a embalagem de EPS, 7058N para 2972N. As embalagens com mangas de duas variedades, Tommy e Palmer, foram submetidas a vibra o com frequ ncia de 30 Hz, amplitude de 0,86mm por um per odo de sete horas em uma mesa vibrat ria constru da para esse fim. Ap s isso, as mangas foram armazenadas em ambiente com temperatura de 22 C e umidade relativa de aproximadamente 40% por um per odo de 15 dias. As mangas foram analisadas atrav s de testes de absorb ncia, firmeza, s lidos sol veis e perda de massa no dia zero e a cada cinco dias, verificando-se os danos e eventual perda de qualidade das frutas. Os resultados de todos os testes mostraram que houve uma tend ncia das embalagens de papel o oferecerem maior prote o s frutas quando comparadas s embalagens de EPS.

Kaarlelan pitäjän historian neljäs ja viimeinen osa käsittelee ajanjaksoa talvisodan puhkeamisesta aina kuntaliitokseen Kokkolan kaupungin kanssa. Nämä vuodet olivat mullistavaa aikaa Suomen historiassa: sota-ajan poikkeustilasta kasvoi vähitellen esiin moderni yhteiskunta. Kaarlela kehittyi ruotsinkielisestä agraarisesta yhteisöstä teollistuneeksi paikkakunnaksi, jonka väestön enemmistö puhui suomea. Uusjako muutti omistussuhteita, ja kunnallishallinto laajeni kasvavien tarpeiden tahdissa. Monien muiden pienten paikkakuntien lailla myös Kaarlelan kohtalona oli liittyminen suurempaan kaupunkiin ja tulevaisuuden haasteiden kohtaaminen yhdessä sen kanssa.
