The truth will set you free. Some conspiracies remain theories. Others become obsessions. Exhumed 100 years after their penning, the Lost DMB Files will reinterpret the way you perceive the world...and possibly the way it perceives you.Dime novelist and pulp fiction writer, David Mark Brown, mysteriously disappeared during the 1930's. Until recently, his obscure writings had all but been forgotten. Violent conspiracy theorists contend his fiction preserves a secret history, a history able to reclaim our future, if the war it unleashes doesn't destroy us in the process.Ranging from pulp western to campy horror, these lost files harken back to an age of dime store novels and over-the-top worlds full of anti-heroes, complex villains, nightmarish monsters, conspiracy theories, shootouts and explosions."Sergio Leone would have killed to film Fistful of Reefer. Harry Turtledove would admire the way history has been skewed. Others will love the notion of the Lost DMB Files. The estimable Mr. Brown has really latched onto something here." Welcome to publishing in the era of the information dealer. Just as the arms dealers and profiteers of the past stirred up murder and chaos for the purpose of profit, so too the information dealers pander to the lowest common denominator for the purpose of profit. Their weapons of choice are link-bait, fake news, click farms, fake reviews, and spammy content. The golden era of the information dealer has been ushered in via the sudden rise of big data and large information brokers such as Facebook, AT&T, Google, and Amazon. This matters to storytellers because Amazon now makes the rules for how readers discover and consume story (as a commodity ). This could end up being a VERY BAD THING if we storytellers don't rise up as Pirate Authors to defend the trustworthiness of our industry and the security of our livelihoods.

After the Cult picks up where The Cult left off. David Patteson has physically left the Church of Bible Understanding (COBU), has a manual labor job, is living in his parent's basement, but is mentally and spiritually still in the cult's grip. He cannot separate Christianity from COBU and believes every day he delays returning is an act of rebellion towards Christ. He goes so far as to identify himself with Judas, who betrayed Jesus for twenty pieces of silver. David equates his departure from COBU as a sin equal to Judas' because, he reasons, he is murdering the spirit of Christ within himself. And like Judas, whose reward convicts rather than benefits him, so David finds his reward, in the form of sexual temptation, also convicts him and compels him to return to COBU. It is only the interventions of a loving grandmother, a supportive father, and a chance accident that keep him from going back. Eventually resolving to not return, he embarks on his own narrow and difficult path toward spiritual reclamation.

This is the first of Narrative Poetry books by Dannov. Marcus is the usual main character, who represents the author. He's either a Substitute Teacher, a waiter, a commercial painter, delivery driver or an indoor/outdoor Plant Technician. He's in his mid to late twenties, still attending college or just graduated. After years of psychedelics, reading underground books, watching documentaries, standup comics and listening to music from the sixties and seventies or from electronic jam-bands in the nineties Marcus has his third eye open (Red Pilled), and he's always venting to a friend, wife or girlfriend, unless he's having a solitary moment of peace or madness. Dannov is from the masculine ilk of Dirty Realism writers like Henry Miller and Charles Bukowski, sometimes mixing in a flare of Magic Realism to add spice to the decaying cage of Corporate America. The illustrations are his too: a canvas of Amalgam Filling Poison.

I don't feel just ranting on the page works anymore, as there's just too much tech pizzazz to be utilized now; for example, Howard Stern rants into the microphone, but he's able to use a circus of sound effects and guest interviews to make it come alive. So instead of just literary freedom movement rhetoric, I provide snapshot characters and dialogue moments to bring home the message, which is, in essence the artist's job. Marcus is the usual main character; along with his wife or girlfriend. He's either a Substitute Teacher, a waiter, commercial painter, delivery driver or an indoor / outdoor Plant Technician. He's in his mid to late twenties, eitherstill attending college or just graduated. He has his Third Eye open, and he's always venting to a friend or wife or girlfriend. From Disneyland to Jim Morrison, technology or the weakness of Indian Writers, Dannov gets In the Ring and means to fight.
