Finding PHIL: Four Traits for Conquering Chaos
Award-winning author and teacher Michael Frickstad brings you an uplifting look on how to cultivate Peace, Hope, Integrity, and Love into your life. Read it and be inspired Like the ravages of puberty, chaos can be conquered. When things are starkly, mind-bendingly nuts, there are ways through the mayhem, ways to help you confront, tolerate, and eventually overwhelm the forces trying to annihilate you. Everything we do, everyone we meet, everywhere we go is a lesson on how to live productive and satisfying lives. Finding PHIL is one person's story of learning to recognize and apply those truths. In his new book, writer, teacher, and speech coach Michael Frickstad relates how he overcame the commotion and frustration of chaos by heeding the inner voice some people call God, others call their guardian angel, and still others call Mom.His unexpected renewal tales-from a second-grade show-and-tell to surviving puberty, from choosing a career to surviving a stroke, from loneliness to wooing the perfect spouse, and many more-reveal the secret of how the four lifestyle traits of peace, hope, integrity, and love can transform life from confusion to joy.By incorporating the wisdom of celebrated thinkers, the warmth of a budding romance, the brutal consequences of failure and arrogance, plus a healthy dose of pure silliness, Finding PHIL uncovers the light inherent in our darkest moments.

The U.S. Army built Fort Phil Kearny in the foothills of Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains in 1866 to protect travelers on the Bozeman Trail headed to Montana’s gold fields. The need for this protection arose because the Bozeman Trail cut through the heart of the last bountiful hunting grounds of the Lakotas, Northern Cheyennes, and Northern Arapahos. The incursion by gold seekers led to direct competition with the allied tribes for food and supplies, and a series of violent encounters culminated in the Fetterman Fight on December 21, 1866, in which the army suffered its worst defeat on the northern plains until Custer’s defeat at the Little Bighorn ten years later. The battle became a cause célèbre and was the subject of a congressional investigation. Based on army records and firsthand reports, Dee Brown’s Fort Phil Kearny: An American Saga was the first detailed account of the battle and the loss of Lieutenant Fetterman’s eighty men. Shannon D. Smith provides an introduction to this new edition.

Tiger & Phil: Golf's Most Fascinating Rivalry
Bob Harig's Tiger & Phil provides an in-depth chronicle of the decades-long rivalry that drove the success of golf's two biggest stars, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. For more than two decades, there have been two golfers who have captivated, bemused, inspired, frustrated, fascinated, and entertained us, and in doing so have demanded our attention - Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. Even with all the ink that has been spilled on Tiger, no one has ever written about his relationship with Phil and how their careers have been inextricably intertwined. Furthermore, very little has been written about Phil Mickelson, who is more than just an adversary. He is a fascinating Hall of Fame golfer in his own right. These two biggest names (and draws) in golf have, for better and for worse, been the ultimate rivals. But it is so much more complicated than that. Each player has pushed the other to be better. They have teased each other and fought. They have battled to the bitter end on the course making for some of the greatest moments in the game for the last 20 years. They have each gone through injury and health problems, legal problems, falling in and out of favor with the press. And over the course of their time together in the game they have gradually become not just rivals but friends. In the tradition of major bestsellers such as Arnie & Jack, When the Game Was Ours, The Rivals, and Brady vs. Manning, Tiger & Phil will change the way we look at these players and the game itself.
