Die weltberühmten Sammlungen der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin verbinden Kunst und Politik in ganz besonderer Weise. Wie Museumsleute vom späten Kaiserreich über die Weimarer Republik und das "Dritte Reich" hinweg bis zur Nachkriegszeit als politische Akteure auftraten, zeigt diese Studie. Timo Saalmann stellt damit nicht nur heraus, wie gesellschaftlich bedeutsam die Museumsinsel im Diskurs um das nationale Eigentum in allen politischen Systemen war, sondern schärft auch den Blick für die kulturpolitischen Aufgaben, die während des Kalten Kriegs der Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz zukamen.

Die Wittgenstein-Rezeption hat sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten, wohl vor allem aufgrund Kripkes einflussreichem Buch Wittgenstein on Rules and Private Language, auf den Begriff der Regel und das Problem des Regelfolgens konzentriert. Wittgenstein selbst betont in seinem Werk allerdings immer wieder, dass eine Praxis nicht nur Regeln hat, sondern auch einen Witz, d.h. eine Pointe - er behauptet sogar: "Die Problematik der Philosophie ist die Problematik des Witzes". Demungeachtet gab es bisher keine systematische Auseinandersetzung, die der Bedeutung des Witzes in Wittgensteins Philosophie gerecht wurde. Die vorliegende Studie wirkt diesem Versäumnis entgegen. An den Beispielen Mathematik, Sprache und Moral wird gezeigt, inwiefern der Witz erstens konstitutiv für eine Praxis ist, zweitens, inwiefern er das Telos einer Praxis ist, und drittens, warum eine Praxis trotz ihrer teleologischen Struktur nicht durch ihr Telos begründet werden kann. In diesem Zusammenhang wirft die vorliegende Studie ein neues Licht auf Wittgensteins Überlegungen zur Mathematik und Sprache. Darüber hinaus werden in der Beschreibung der Moral Perspektiven eröffnet, die über Wittgenstein hinausweisen und weitere Anwendungsmöglichkeiten der Beschreibungsformen Regel und Witz aufzeigen.

Korinth ragte durch seine große Bevölkerungszahl, seine strategisch günstige Lage, seinen schon im Altertum sprichwörtlichen Reichtum und nicht zuletzt durch seine politischen Ambitionen aus dem Kreis der mittelgroßen griechischen Stadtstaaten heraus. Die am Isthmus gelegene Polis übte eine Art Hegemonie über viele der von ihr gegründeten Städte, vor allem in Nordwestgriechenland, aus, die sie befähigte, überregional machtpolitische Ziele zu verfolgen. Timo Stickler geht der Geschichte dieser politisch-militärischen Rolle Korinths und seiner Kolonien im 5. Jahrhundert v. Chr. nach. Eine solche Untersuchung im Licht der neueren Forschung war bislang ein Desiderat und stellt einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Geschichte des klassischen Griechenland jenseits der Großmächte Athen und Sparta dar.

The textual history of the Books of Kings forms one of the most complex and debated issues in the modern text-historical scholarship. This book examines and reconstructs the textual history of 2 Kings 17 in light of the preserved textual evidence. The analysis of textual differences between the LXX, the Old Latin, and the MT allows the reconstruction of the oldest text attainable. The Old Latin version appears to have in many cases best preserved the Old Greek edition of the chapter, now lost in the Greek witnesses due to Hebraizing revisions. The Old Greek version of 2 Kings 17 evidences a Hebrew Vorlage often radically differing from the MT. In most cases the MT exhibits signs of later editing. The LXX can thus help the scholars reconstruct multiple text-historical layers previously out of our reach, as well as shed new light on certain historiographical details recounted in 2 Kings 17. As supposed by the literary critics for well over a century, the textual data shows beyond doubt that there happened vast editing and rewriting of the Books of Kings even at very late date. Text-critical considerations are therefore not only useful, but invaluable to all scholarly work on 2 Kings 17, and the Books of Kings as a whole.

Unabhängig von Produktionsland, zeitlichem Kontext, Genre und der Einordnung in U- oder E-Kunst finden sich in der filmgeschichte zahlreiche literarisch-ästhetische Lektürebegegnungen. In dieser Studie werden die filmischen Inszenierungsmöglichkeiten des sinnlichen Leseaktes erstmals interdisziplinär dargelegt.Der Autor bestimmt dabei die vielfältigen Funktionen filmischer Leseszenen und verortet diese in der Kulturgeschichte und in der Filmtheorie. Die Besonderheit der filmischen Realisierung des Lesens liegt aus filmphänomenlogischer Perspektive darin, dass in der filmischen Rezeption die Erfahrung (Filmerfahrung) einer Erfahrung (Leseerfahrung) möglich wird. Are our concepts from prosodic typology, like word stress, pitch accent, head-/edge-prominence, really that tightly linked to individual languages? How are meanings often signaled via intonation in European languages, like information structure and sentence type, expressed in communicative acts between speakers who are bilingual in such a European language, Spanish, and one in which many of these meanings are expressed by morphology, Quechua? Based on semi-spontaneous dialogical elicitation data in both Spanish and Quechua gathered via fieldwork in the bilingual community of Huari, Peru, this work provides some challenging answers to these questions. Besides being the first detailed description of the prosody of a Central Quechuan language, it provides an in-depth study of the intonational systems and prosodic structures of the two languages and shows that their variation spaces overlap to a large extent, in turns exhibiting or not exhibiting evidence of word stress, pitch accents, lexical pitch accents in loanwords, and head- or edge-prominence.
