When times were bad and jobs were hard to come by, I got a job in a book warehouse. It's the only job where I had to take math and English tests to get the position. I swore to them that I had graduated from high school, but that didn't matter - I had to take the tests.What we did was get cartons of books, and then using hand-held computers, find the aisle, the shelf, and then the space to put the books in.It is hard, at least for me, to let all this knowledge - literally - go through my fingers and not try to grab some of it.When times were bad - from The Lost Colony of Roanoke to Dresden and THE GREAT DEBATE.
