The story takes place in a small town in Costa Rica where a white faced monkey mother and her baby start coming out of the forest to eat fruit that is being left out for them. Slowly over time the baby monkey starts trusting the young boy who is leaving the food out for them and little by little they start spending more time together. The seven year old boy named Jose has very little knowledge about monkeys and has no idea how he can become friends with a monkey.
