Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack, All dressed in black, black, black, With silver buttons, buttons, buttons, All down her back, back, back...Who exactly was Mary Mack and what are those silver buttons? Taking historical fiction to an all new level, Alexander G.J. plants you back in time to New York City in the early 19th century, to the world of Mary Elizabeth White, an eccentric, British-born, socialite, who rubbed elbows with some of the most powerful families in the world. Rumored to have lived in a lighthouse on Fifth Avenue, Mary White was also a suffragette, opera singer, pianist and a formable fencer. When the Germans sink the RMS Lusitania, it sets into motion a series of events connecting Mary's fate to both the oncoming war, as well as a tragic accident at a circus in 1892, involving elephants and a little American girl. What is Mary's connection to the American girl and how is she related to her father's tragic past?

- The Sheriff is "the ultimate authority in the land." The Sheriff is the only elected law enforcement officer in the United States -- and therefore in his County. He's the only official who reports directly to the Source of power. He reports directly to "we the people", on the land. He is sovereign in this regard because he reports directly to the Sovereigns. That is why the Sheriff is the ultimate authority on the land. He's not a bureaucrat from Washington, DC. The President of the United States cannot tell your Sheriff what to do. So certainly, none of the other auxiliary departments underneath the president can tell the Sheriff what to do, and that includes the IRS, the EPA, OSHA, the FBI, the DEA, none of those agencies can tell the Sheriff what to do. But when they are in his sovereign jurisdiction, he can tell them what to do.
The Reminiscences of Vice Adm. William Paden Mack, USN (Ret.), vol. I
Admiral Mack was gunnery officer in the USS John D. Ford (DD-228) on the Asiatic Station when World War II began. He was involved in the early battles of Makassar Strait, Badoeng Strait, the Java Sea, and the Coral Sea. He tells of pioneering responsibilities in amphibious warfare in the Aleutians; of his duty as XO of the USS Preston (DD-795) during strikes on Japan, the Philippines, and Formosa; his duty as aide to Secretaries of the Navy Gates, Franke, and Connally; his planning of the naval review for President John F. Kennedy in 1962; his tour with General Victor H. Krulak, USMC, in counterinsurgency during Cuban Missile Crisis and the early days of involvement in Vietnam. In 1963 Mack served as Chief of Information for the Secretary of the Navy. He relates experiences when the F-111 was in the news and when the Tonkin Gulf was an issue. In the second volume of his oral history Admiral Mack continues his discussion of duties as Chief of Information and his dealings with Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara. Highlights in this volume include: Commander Amphibious Group Two; conducting training with Marine Corps; serving as recovery commander for various space-recovery shots; Deputy Assistant SecDef (Manpower & Reserve Affairs); working with Secretary of Defense Melvin Laird; in 1971, under CNO Admiral Elmo Zumwalt, Commander Seventh Fleet (the first post-World War II non-aviator in that job); conducting mining of Haiphong Harbor and operations against the North Vietnamese; and in 1972, Superintendent of the Naval Academy until his retirement in 1975.

Willing to Kill, the Executioner: Mack Bolan Short Story
Willing to Kill- "From first word to last, Don Pendleton is in pure form-as is his creation: The Executioner " Jon Guenther, AuthorAt the beginning of his impossible war, Mack Bolan had not envisioned himself as the arch-foe of the Mafia world. He had simply reacted to a terribly disheartening situation-in the same way in which any man of like talents and ideals would have done-without knowing that soon he would become the most feared and hated enemy of the crime kingdoms.Bolan had learned to live one heartbeat at a time-with no thought beyond the next battle line-or beyond the next police trap. The men behind the badges were, in Bolan's understanding, "soldiers of the same side," but in the official book, Mack Bolan was the largest criminal of all. And he accepted that, and would have it no other way. He had also learned early in his war that he was stronger when standing alone-and, indeed, this was how he preferred to operate. He was not "operating" at all, though, that fated morning in Dallas when he stumbled upon the Mafia hit team. Something large was going down, and Mack Bolan invited himself to the war Introduction by Linda Pendleton."The name of the game is Hit the Mafia. We'll hit them so fast, so often, and from so many directions they'll think hell fell in on them." Don Pendleton, Mack Bolan, # 2, Death Squad
