Driving home from work late one night Leslie Mathis lost control of her vehicle and had a life altering experience that impacted her spirituality in a powerful and unforgettable way. It was during this incident that she received a message from a higher power that seemed to be spoken directly into her soul. This experience led to a deeper and more profound examination of not only herself but those around her. The message imparted to her was confirmation that her giving and compassion towards others had been recognized and that she should not only continue down that path but inspire others to do so as well. This book starts with the true story of the events that happened on that fateful night and follows up with a series of chapters that were developed from the knowledge she gained as she pursued a deeper understanding of her spirituality and the ideas behind heightened spiritual awareness. Citing influences such as Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle, and others she gracefully explores subjects that are of great importance to those seeking a better way of life. These subjects include unconditional love, compassion, patience, mindfulness, oneness, meditation and even third eye awakening to name a few. It is in many ways intended to be a guide to help you reach a higher level of existence and awareness as a human being, or at the very least lead you to the correct path to start your journey in that direction.

This book will give you a fresh new perspective of yourself. "There are so many people who have never been locked up but maybe institutionalized and don't even know it " At a young age Mike Mathis, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, struggled with knowing his value and self-worth, which led to him being severely bullied, having low self-esteem, emotionally numb, and a stuttering disorder. As Mike grew into young adulthood, due to his desire to fit in, he started hanging out with the wrong crowd and making many poor decisions. As a result, at the age of 20, Mike was incarcerated in Mississippi for eight years on a plantation. On his third night in jail, Mike saw something that changed his life forever. As a result, Mike solidified his relationship with Christ and discovered his new perspective, forcing him to focus on his purpose: Inspire, Educate, and empower. After being released from prison in 2009, Mike returned to Cleveland on a mission. He has helped thousands of people to become mentally, emotionally, and financially free from the bondage of low self-esteem. "Freedom is a choice which is derived from the value within."

The central figure of this family saga is Isaac Woollard who lived in Western Kentucky for about thirty years (from c1775 to c1810). He was descended from English ancestors who had arrived in Virginia in 1650 and settled in a part of the colony known as the Northern Neck, which was a small peninsula of land lying between the Rappahannock and Potomac rivers as they flowed southward into the Chesapeake Bay. After a century of residence in that part of the Neck that later became Richmond County (where Woollards still reside), the father of Isaac -William - migrated to newly created Loudoun County (1757) in the northwestward extension of the Neck. From Loudoun County, son Isaac moved on to the Kentucky territory and over time, his sons dispersed to form new lines in Tennessee, Indiana, and Illinois; the particular focus of this research is the family line that was established in Tennessee. Additional research about a related family is included in the book by the same authors, Mathis - Carlton - Shelley of Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee Since 1618: And Allied American Families (2016)

Brookhaven has long benefited from its prime location. With two creeks running through it and the well-traveled thoroughfare that became Peachtree Road, Brookhaven was a familiar place to Native Americans, Civil War soldiers, and early settlers like the Goodwin family, whose home became a railroad stop. Adjacent to the city of Atlanta, Brookhaven grew into a community of gracious neighborhoods, parks, and lakes and became home to Oglethorpe University. In 2013, Brookhaven became a city, and it continues to benefit and grow as businesses and families are attracted by its proximity to Atlanta.

Being a University of Michigan football fan should be joyful. Michigan is an elite academic institution whose football team boasts forty-three Big Ten championships. But these days, college football is complicated. The NCAA is corrupt and exploitative, and Michigan keeps losing to Ohio State. It's hard not to wonder, as Slate writer and superfan Ben Mathis-Lilley does in this book: Why are we doing this? The Hot Seat is a chronicle of one of the wildest years in Michigan football history, but also a search for the truth about fandom, from the pages of history books to the wilderness of online forums. Is it embarrassing to care about what happens in a game? Why is Jim Harbaugh like that? Is it somehow Thomas Jefferson's fault? This book explores all these questions and many more.Against the backdrop of a quickly changing sport and country, The Hot Seat is an exploration of the all-consuming culture of fandom, and why it matters.

'The Songwriter's Guide To Taking The Next Steps' was written for the aspiring songwriter who wants to do something with their songs and for the songwriter who is looking for a fresh perspective toward song placement. The author, John Mathis Jr., has been a songwriter, music publisher and music industry professional for over 20 years. His father was a BMI Award winning songwriter with 10 Country Music Hall of Fame inductees covering his music. During the past two decades, John received an inside view of what the non-songwriter thinks in the music business. Most songwriters believe "It's all about the song". Most non-songwriters in the music industry are mentally conditioned to recognize and see brands ... not necessarily songs. Sometimes doing something with your songs, is more about doing something with YOU. Many traditional topics are covered such as the reality of a songwriting career, co-writing, song demos, the importance of networking, performance rights organizations and whether to copyright your songs. Other chapters give insight and ideas for songwriters regarding getting out of the box on placement outlets, why building your brand is important and direction on building your brand. Additional topics are covered to give a well-rounded view of what it takes to make some of the next steps in a songwriting career. Templates for contracts are included in the last chapter to aid songwriters with developing their own publishing company. This book provides a simple, straight-forward approach for songwriters to follow.

Would you participate in a contest in which you do not know the rules? What if the success of your organization or your personal reputation were at stake? Don't answer so quickly. Every day millions of people interact with the news media and yet most of them are completely unaware of the rules of the game. The results are predictable: a few benefit from the most powerful marketing force on the planet, some suffer serious damage, others maximize their opportunities, and the majority of folks are left wondering how they can grab a piece of the publicity prize. Their success (or lack thereof) would be so much different if only they understood the rules of the game they are playing – or haven't played because they don't know where to begin. In Feeding the Media Beast: An Easy Recipe for Great Publicity, former news anchor and reporter Mark Mathis gives publicity seekers a simple and highly practical formula to follow using just twelve rules. This groundbreaking book simplifies everything for the PR professional and those non-professionals thrown into the mix. For starters, it explains that there are four problems that exist in all newsrooms. The first is that the Beast is Handicapped. Journalists are overworked, underpaid, under-resourced, and generally live a high-stress lifestyle. The Beast is also Hungry, Harried, and Human. Only when people understand the commotion of the newsroom can they successfully use the media rules to obtain effective publicity. This book addresses a fundamental need of all CEOs, marketing directors, politicians, and other leaders: "How can I safely harness the power of the news media to send my message to the public?" Feeding the Media Beast provides the answer to this question through a powerful new methodology that demystifies the publicity process; it identifies the handicaps that are common to all media outlets; and then in a judo-type move, it turns those dangerous attributes into a goldmine of opportunity.
